I think because everyone in my family is really light skinned so to me it is normal, if that makes sense. I’m not saying darker skinned individuals aren’t pretty, on the contrary. My brother married a darker skin toned girl, she’s gorgeous, but he had to go through the whole “why you marrying a kali for, you’ll have black babies” thing with the extended family. Just don’t want any of that crap to deal with I suppose. Just want someone who will nicely settle in to my family without any snide remarks being slung my way, especially as I have a short fuse for such things.

People who love passing such remarks will find something to comment on.
