Question About The Quran

Re: Question About The Quran

But, be careful and keep arabic text handy because some words/pronunciations do not carry over perfectly into English.

Example: Ayat al Kursi
Allahu la ilaha illa huwa, Al -Haiyul-Qaiyum La **ta'khudhuhu* sinatun wa la nawm lahu ma fi as-samawati wa ma fil-'ard Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi Ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum wa la yuhituna bi shai'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a Wasi'a kursiyuhus-samawati wal ard wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma wa Hu wal 'Aliyul-Adheem*
Ta 'khuduhu when read in Arabic script should sound like Ta'ku*z*uhu

Dhal-ladhi= Zal, lazi

Adheem= Azeem

And so on...Allah knows best. My arabic isn't the best either, but that's how i've been taught and have always read it.

My suggestion: Always keep arabic Quran close for cross-referencing. Though, personally i would try and learn Arabic for it has many benefits and you extract the most ajr/benefit if you read it in native language and then understand the meaning. :)
