Misbah, Naved tons, Saeed lead Faisalabad to big triumph

By Gul Hameed Bhatti

KARACHI: Faisalabad soared to the top of the Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Cricket Tournament points table, when they defeated Karachi in a second-round match, here at the National Stadium on Monday. After Faisalabad had piled up 305 runs for six wickets in their allotted fifty overs Karachi, following quite a brisk start, were dismissed for 245 runs to be handed out a 60-run defeat.

At the centre of Faisalabad’s magnificent batting effort were individual hundreds by skipper Misbah-ul-Haq and middle-order batsman Naved Latif, both Pakistan players, and a devastating spell of off-spin bowling by Saeed Ajmal, who bagged a career-best five wickets for 18 runs in eight overs to make Karachi go crashing down.

Naved Latif needed only 97 deliveries to score 123 runs, that saw him occupy the crease for 102 minutes and included eight fours and an equal number of sixes. The Sargodha-born Naved, who turns 28 on Saturday and has played in a Test and 11 One-day Internationals for Pakistan, hit his seventh hundred in major limited overs cricket.

Mianwali’s 29-year-old Misbah, who has appeared in five Tests and 11 One-day Internationals, scored his fourth limited-over century - also his career-highest - as he remained unbeaten until the end of fifty overs. His contribution was 107 not out, that came off 122 balls in two hours 41 minutes and included 10 fours and two sixes.

The fourth-wicket stand for Faisalabad between Misbah and Naved produced a rollicking 204 runs in 102 minutes in a matter of 207 deliveries. Karachi, including as many as seven national senior team players, were not impressive enough in the field and let the initiative slip out of their hands early on in the match after Shahid Afridi had won the toss and put the visitors in to bat.

Karachi were off to a flying start, with 91 coming off the first 15 overs without any loss. The left-handed Shadab Kabir scored 60 off 108 balls with six fours but Shahid Afridi left after having made a characteristic 65, that came off a mere 45 deliveries, and included eight fours and three sixes.

With important contributions from the batsmen who followed, the left-handed Asim Kamal hammering his 33 off just 17 balls with three fours and two sixes, at 216 for three in the 39th over Karachi were still in with a chance to achieve a win. But the last seven wickets managed only a further 29 runs, thanks mainly to Saeed Ajmal, and Faisalabad sailed to an important victory with four overs to spare.

Karachi were earlier to meet Quetta in their Quaid-e-Azam Cup match on Sunday. But, due to the court stay order obtained against the selection of ‘ineligible’ players in the Quetta team, the game currently stands postponed. Hyderabad too have been restrained to play due to a similar reason and Faisalabad, who were originially scheduled to play in Hyderabad, had to be diverted to Karachi to face the home team here.

As the rescheduling was done with a slight delay, the Faisalabad team got late in getting to Karachi. Their limited-over match was thus put off for a day, and played on Monday instead of Sunday. The two teams start their four-day Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Championship at the same venue from Tuesday (today).

After having beaten Sialkot by one wicket in a thriller with just one over to spare, at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Sunday in the previous week, Faisalabad have now gained the full eight points from their first two matches. Peshawar have the same number of points, but Faisalabad have a superior net run-rate.

National selectors show up at NSK to watch Afridi play

By our correspondent

KARACHI: Pakistan’s discarded all-rounder Shahid Afridi was the focal point for the national selectors who showed up here at the National Stadium on Monday to witness the Karachi and Faisalabad Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Tournament match.

While selector Iqbal Qasim and junior selector Abdul Raqeeb were at the stadium since morning to watch the match, chief selector Wasim Bari showed up at lunch to watch the proceedings and only left after the dismissal of Afridi One of the selectors admitted that the selectors were keen to see how Afridi was performing since he had returned to Pakistan domestic cricket after a season with South African provincial side Griqualand West.

**“I spoke to his coaches in South Africa and they had some very good things to say about him and felt he was a much improved player now,” Bari said.

Though Afridi was his usual dashing self in striking eight fours and three sixers in a 48 balls 65 for Karachi, the difference was that he was more
patient and selective with his shots.**

Bari said that Afridi and other players who perform well in the one-day tournament would definitely be considered for the home series against India even if they have not been invited for the national camp in Lahore.

One of the selectors said Afridi was in particular under consideration for the one-day series against India. But if Afridi attracted the selectors to the stadium, he also managed to ensure the match was not watched by an empty stadium as some 100 odd people turned up to watch the match.

The tragedy was that while the Chairman of the Board, Shaharyar Khan, has constantly complained about hardly anyone watching domestic matches, when some people did turn up on Monday they were treated rather harshly by the personnel of the “Muhafiz” private security agency.

It was a pity to watch the security guards not allowing the people to sit comfortably and peacefully on the grass to watch the exciting match.

An old man of around 65 years who came from Orangi town to watch Afridi in action was also forced to leave his position near the boundary ropes and go out.

Similarly when a small number of school children came to the stadium they were told they could not sit in one enclosure and were moved elsewhere and finally left frustrated.

The best part was that while one of the security guards by the name of Jaffri was busy in causing bother to the spectators around the stadium, he had the audacity to seat one of his relatives in the umpire’s room and got involved in an altercation with a stadium staff member who objected to the relative’s presence in the umpiring room.

After a long time one saw some vendors also turn up in one of the enclosures during a domestic match to sell their items and it all added to the colourful atmosphere.

But if spectators are going to be treated in this manner by the security staff then no wonder people don’t bother to come and watch domestic matches.

mibah ul haq scored a century… he should definately be given a chance…

and afridi… he also perform well.. what do u think… did he impress selectors enough to come back to the national team

same old paa Afridi. :k: :k: He should be given one more chance! Afterall, he left SA and dumped 20k or somthing dollars to join the team.

oh, karachi lost :frowning: afridi :k:

Salman Butt achieves maiden first-class century :hula:

From our correspondent

SHEIKHUPURA: The 19-year-old left-handed Salman Butt scored the maiden century of his first-class career, as Lahore scraped to a tally of 236 all out against Peshawar, on the opening day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match here at the Sheikhupura Stadium on Monday. By the close of play, some of the initiative had been wrested back, as Peshawar had four wickets down for only 50 runs in their reply.

Salman, a former youth teams captain, had scored only one fifty in his previous 14 first-class matches. Yesterday, he dominated the Lahore first innings with a knock of 122, made off 204 balls in a stay at the crease of four hours 20 minutes. He did get adequate support in the beginning but, from a fine looking total of 203 for three, Lahore slumped to 236 all out in 68 overs.

Debutant Ashraf Ali, with 22 runs off 25 balls, helped Salman in a 54-run stand for the third wicket. With skipper Adil Nisar, playing this role in the absence of both Yousuf Youhana and Saleem Elahi, another 117 runs were added for the fourth wicket. The left-handed Adil scored 36 off 89 balls in a little over two hours.

Lahore lost their way from there onwards. Former Pakistan off-spinner Arshad Khan, playing in his 150th first-class match, returned figures of six for 57 in 23 overs to topple the opponents who lost their last seven wickets for just 33 runs. Arshad bagged his 26th haul of five or more wickets in an innings, a feat that took his career’s total to 497 by the end of the day.

The national senior team’s pace bowler Umar Gul had figures of 3-70 from 19 overs. But his former Pakistan Under-19s teammate, the left-arm fast-medium Mohammad Khalil was more devastating while taking three for 28 in Peshawar’s 50 for four by the draw of stumps on the first of the four days.

Imran Nazir continues the batting demolition act for Sialkot

Imran Nazir continues the batting demolition act for Sialkot

From our correspondent

MULTAN: Pakistan reject Imran Nazir continued to make a mockery of the national selectors’ decision to ignore him, as he hammered a scintillating 122 for Sialkot, on the second day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match against Multan, here at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. By the close of the day’s play, Sialkot had gained a substantial first innings lead of 134 runs with three wickets still intact.

Multan had earlier in the day crashed pathetically as, from a rather adequate looking score of 232 for six overnight, they lost their last four wickets for the addition of a mere two runs. Sialkot replied strongly, thanks mainly to Imran Nazir’s blistering knock, and reached 368 for seven by the draw of stumps.

Multan’s main tormentor at the start of the day’s play was left-arm fast-medium bowler Zahid Saeed, who started the slide by dismissing debutant wicket-keeper Aamer Ata for a duck. Aamer Bashir added the only two runs made for Multan to his overnight 69 as Zahid trapped him leg-before for 71. Abdul Rauf and Tahir Maqsood also failed to score and Zahid finished with figures of four for 37 in 17.4 overs.

The 22-year-old Zahid, who was declared best bowler of the tournament at the 1999-00 Under-19s World Cup in Sri Lanka, has earned an invitation to the Pakistan national camp being set up for the forthcoming tour by the Indians, on the basis of his performance yesterday.

Imran was in a ruthless mood as Sialkot started their reply. In just short of two and three-quarter hours of batting, he hit 122 in a matter of 112 deliveries while sending the ball to the ropes 20 times and three times over them. Of his runs, 98 came in boundaries alone.

Imran, 22, has already played in eight Tests and 57 One-day Internationals for Pakistan, but has been out of favour for some time. He has, however, been devastating in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Tournament and the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Championship. A week ago, in a first-class Trophy match, his 83 runs against Faisalabad had come off a mere 63 balls with 15 fours and a six.

On Sunday, as Sialkot raced to an emphatic nine-wicket triumph over Multan here in a limited-over Cup encounter, Imran’s unbeaten 123 out of 177 for one was scored off only 69 deliveries in one hour 35 minutes, and included 18 fours in addition to five sixes.

With Faisal Naved yesterday, Imran gave Sialkot a 133-run opening stand. Faisal’s 50 required 68 balls to make in 102 minutes. Former under-19s team player Kamran Younis contributed 38 off 89 balls. Then skipper Shoaib Malik and all-rounder Naved-ul-Hasan added 101 runs for the sixth-wicket partnership.

Shoaib hit 55 off 115 balls in 131 minutes while Naved batted for an exact two hours while making 65 off 89 deliveries. The highly-rated opening bowlers Abdul Rauf and Mohammad Irshad got hammered mercilessly, mainly by Imran Nazir, but Tahir Maqsood was quite impressive.

The fast-medium bowler from Bahawalpur, Tahir had not played a first-class match for almost two years until yesterday. His figures of four wickets for 68 runs in 16.1 overs were also the best of his career.

83, 123, and now 122. After this magnificent play...I believe he must be considered against India. How long can the selectors keep ignoring him when he is playing as well as this...

Holy shyte, Imran Nazir is really performing. Impressive. Not too bad by Afridi either. But where the hell is Waqar?? That is the guy we really need to see play in this tourny.
Also what do you guys think of Navid Latif, he really batted well against India A in India and now agian here. Maybe we should give the guy a second look.

wow im impressed by nazir... the thought of him and farhat opening in one dayers is not only mouth watering but also scary... ive never heard of Zahid Saeed but we could have another speed demon in the making here.... and he's left armed as well..... wow.... the amount of talent available right now is amazing... im going to be watching this zahid character closely.... Afridi i dont know... basically its between him and malik competing for one spot... razzaq is going nowhere....

Ahmed Said, Shoaib Khan help Peshawar to crucial lead

From our correspondent

SHEIKHUPURA: A magnificent sixth-wicket partnership of 207 runs not only lifted Peshawar from a precarious situation but also gained them the crucial first innings lead against Lahore, on the second day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match, here at the Sheikhupura Stadium on Tuesday. At the close of the day’s play, Peshawar were ahead of Lahore by 57 runs and had three wickets still standing.

Resuming at their overnight score of 50 for four, in reply to Lahore’s first innings 236 all out, Peshawar were still 186 runs in arrears. They lost their fifth wicket at 76 and desperately needed someone to steer them out of the woods. Wicket-keeper Ahmed Said was then joined by Shoaib Khan.

The two proceeded to take the score to 283 runs, by which time the first innings lead had also been achieved. This was made possible by a brilliant century from the 25-year-old Shoaib, who had come in to bat at number seven. His 116 runs came off 190 deliveries in just over four hours.

Shoaib played in the earlier part of the season for Water & Power Development Authority (Wapda) who ended as runners-up to Zarai Tariqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in the Patron’s Trophy Championship. In seven matches, he scored 475 runs at an average of 52.77 with 88 his highest among four half-centuries. His 116 yesterday was his third hundred in first-class cricket.

The 27-year-old Ahmed Said from Mardan is still at the crease with an unbeaten 85 to his name. In 23 first-class matches, this is his career-highest, his previous best being 78 not out of his four earlier scores of fifty-plus.

The left-arm fast-medium bowler Mohammad Khalil finished the day with figures of four for 86 from 31 overs while his new-ball partner Wasim Khan bagged 3-54. Khalil, who played for Pakistan in the Under-19s World Cup in New Zealand two years ago, has been called to attend the national camp in preparation for the forthcoming tour by the Indians.

Tauqeer Hussain the hero as
Faisalabad recover to score 311

By Gul Hameed Bhatti

KARACHI: It was again Naved Latif to the rescue, as Faisalabad suffered an early collapse on the opening day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match against Karachi, here at the National Stadium on Tuesday. But in the end an unknown youngster by the name of Tauqeer Hussain emerged as the real hero for the visiting side.

The 22-year-old Tauqeer, who also operates with the new ball for Faisalabad, made an invaluable 97 not out batting at number eight, as his team recovered from three wickets down for just six runs on the board to an eventual 311 all out. By the close of play, Karachi had lost two wickets - including that of Shahid Afridi - for 45, that places them behind Faisalabad’s first innings score by 266 runs.

Moin Khan, the originally appointed Karachi captain - who missed the Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Tournament match against Faisalabad on Monday, returned to lead the side. He won the toss and invited Faisalabad to bat first on a National Stadium track which looked conducive to easy batting. But pace bowler Tanvir Ahmed struck three blows to bring about early destruction.

Former Test cricketer Mohammad Ramzan, one-drop Asif Hussain and skipper Misbah-ul-Haq all fell to Tanvir without managing to open their account. Opener Mohammad Hafeez (16) was then joined by Ijaz Ahmed Junior, a former Pakistan representative, in a 38-run fourth-wicket stand that lifted Faisalabad’s spirits.

Naved Latif, who blasted a 97-ball 123 in his team’s 60-run triumph against Karachi in the limited-over Quaid-e-Azam Cup match on Monday, was again in a devastating mood yesterday. He was at the crease for a minute less than two hours, and faced just 75 balls in hammering 91 runs that included 16 fours and two sixes.

Ijaz made 54 off only 68 deliveries with 10 boundaries. But Faisalabad got into trouble again as the loss of four wickets within 51 runs had them eight down for 174 runs. Naved too had retired hurt due to an elbow injury caused by Tanvir after he had just reached 50. At this juncture, Tauqeer took over.

Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and debutant Sami Niazi helped him out as 72 runs were added before the ninth wicket fell. Sami batted 69 minutes for his nine runs while he faced 45 balls and hit two fours. Naved then returned and got involved in a 65-run partnership for the last wicket with Tauqeer.

Tauqeer attained only the second score of fifty plus in his short first-class career. For an innings just three runs short of hundred, he occupied the crease for a little over three hours, faced 137 deliveries and executed 14 boundaries and a six. For the 25-year-old Tanvir, his figures of six wickets for 112 runs were the ninth time that he had taken five or more wickets in an innings of a first-class match. Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Sami didn’t take a wicket until almost the very end when he dismissed his namesake Sami Niazi. Left-arm fast-medium Nasir Khan had a return of two for 45 from 13 overs.

Karachi surrender 65-run first innings lead to Faisalabad

By Gul Hameed Bhatti

KARACHI: Karachi’s long tail was exposed on the second day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match against Faisalabad, here at the National Stadium on Wednesday, as they surrendered a 65-run first innings lead and, by the end of the day’s play, the visitors were 118 runs ahead of them with eight second innings wickets still standing.

Karachi, who went into the match with only five specialist batsmen in addition to wicket-keeper Moin Khan, had done well to reach 221 for five in their first innings - though needing 91 more runs to acquire the advantage over Faisalabad. But the last five wickets managed to add only a further 25 runs as fast-medium bowler Ahmed Hayat started the slide and eventually finished with figures of five wickets for 69 runs.

The Karachi innings of 246 included several useful knocks by the upper order, before the slump ensued. Resuming at their overnight 45 for two, 266 runs behind Faisalabad’s first innings 311, Karachi were boosted by a 103-run third-wicket partnership between Naumanullah and the left-handed Asim Kamal.

Naumanullah’s effort fell five runs short of fifty, his 45 coming off 98 balls in just short of three hours with five fours. Test cricketer Asim Kamal’s 53 took 144 deliveries to make, also in almost three hours’ time, as he sent the ball to the boundary seven times.

Saeed Bin Nasir and skipper Moin Khan then joined in a fifth-wicket stand of 60 runs. Moin hit a swift 58 off 88 balls in a little over two hours with the help of seven fours. Saeed’s 35 came off 51 deliveries in one hour 20 minutes with six fours. But, of the remaining five batsmen, only Tahir Khan managed to reach double figures. The last four wickets fell inside four runs.

The 26-year-old Ahmed Hayat Gondal, who two Sundays ago had turned in a match-winning all-round performance in Faisalabad’s one-wicket win over Sialkot in a Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Tournament match, bagged the eighth five or more wickets in an innings feat in his first-class career. The left-arm new-ball bowler Samiullah Khan Niazi, playing in his fifth match at this level, returned figures of three for 65 from 23 overs.

Faisalabad skipper Misbah-ul-Haq changed the second innings batting order a bit, but Asif Hussain perished for a duck after having faced just one ball, which gave him a pair in the match. Wicket-keeper Mohammad Salman made only two runs as Faisalabad were down to eight for two.

Misbah then stemmed the rot and, with opener Mohammad Hafeez, took the score to 53 by stumps without any further mishap. Misbah’s 31 not out has come off 58 balls with as many as seven fours in 81 minutes. Hafeez was at the crease with an unbeaten 16 to his name. He has faced 64 balls and hit three boundaries.

Umar Gul’s five for 69 help Peshawar to quick win

From our correspondent

SHEIKHUPURA: Pakistan’s 19-year-old pace bowler Umar Gul batted and bowled Peshawar to a quick nine-wicket victory over Lahore, on the third day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match here at the Sheikhupura Stadium on Wednesday. Peshawar have now joined Sialkot at the top of the competition’s points table, the latter also winning their match against Multan yesterday with a full day to spare.

Umar Gul, who has appeared in four Tests and 15 One-day Internationals, first made a career-highest 41 in Peshawar’s first innings and then had bowling figures of five wickets for 69 runs in Lahore’s second innings. Peshawar had gained a lead of 127 runs while making 363 in reply to Lahore’s first innings 236 all out.

In their second outing, Lahore were dismissed for a pathetic 163, thanks to Umar Gul - who finished with match figures of eight wickets for 139 runs. Peshawar needed only 37 runs to win, which they did for the loss of one wicket in a mere 5.5 overs.

Resuming at the overnight 293 for seven - with a first innings lead of 57 - Peshawar took their score to 363 before being all out. Wicket-keeper Ahmed Said having started at 85 not out reached his maiden century in first-class cricket, his 106 coming off 253 balls in almost six and a half hours. On Tuesday, he had lifted Peshawar with a 207-run sixth-wicket stand with his team’s other century-maker Shoaib Khan (116).

Umar Gul hit 41 at number 10 off just 54 deliveries as the last two wickets added 66 runs. Left-arm fast-medium bowler Mohammad Khalil, 21, meanwhile finished with career-best figures of six wickets for 106 runs. His partner Wasim Khan took the other four wickets at a cost of only 67 runs.

Khalil, who played for Pakistan in the Under-19s World Cup in

New Zealand two years ago, has been invited - alongwith Sialkot’s left-armer Zahid Saeed - to the Pakistan camp in Lahore, that starts in preparation for the Indian team’s tour to this country.

Lahore simply capitulated in their second innings, with Umar Gul taking five wickets and fellow pacers Kabir Khan and Sajid Shah two each. Khaqan Arsal top-scored with 27 although Kamran Sajid, Ashraf Ali and Khalil later in the order also got into the 20s.

Opener Aftab Khan was quickly on his way to the win with an unbeaten 30 out of 37 in a mere 24 balls. Taimur Khan faced only one delivery in a six-minute stay before Wasim had him caught by Khalil for a duck.

Peshawar will now travel to Sialkot to meet the points table joint leaders at the Jinnah Stadium in their Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Tournament and the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy matches, starting from Sunday. Lahore are scheduled to play against Rawalpindi at the Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) Stadium in the latter city.

Inzamam-ul-Haq’s heroics in vain as Sialkot beat Multan

From our correspondent

MULTAN: Sialkot raced to an emphatic nine-wicket win over Multan, on the third day of their second-round, four-day 46th Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship match, here at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. After extending their first innings lead to 171 runs yesterday, Sialkot bowled out Multan for a rather inadequate 215 in their second outing, which left them just 45 runs to achieve their first triumph of the competition.

Multan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq’s heroics were in vain as his knock of 91 couldn’t set the opponents a bigger target, that would at least have taken the match into its final day today (Thursday). The game was over with a day to spare, as was the match at the Sheikhupura Stadium, where Peshawar defeated Lahore, also by a nine-wicket margin.

Resuming at their overnight 368 for seven, already having gained a 134-run first innings lead over Multan who had been dismissed for 234 on Tuesday, Sialkot reached 405 before being all out. Wicket-keeper Haafiz Khalid Mahmood, who finished the match with seven catches behind the stumps, remained unbeaten with 24 runs that came off 28 balls.

Pace bowler Mohammad Irshad, who has been likened to fast bowling ace Shoaib Akhtar, made amends for his poor overnight figures of 2-97 off just 11 overs by claiming two more wickets that gave him a respectable eventual analysis of four wickets for 107 runs from 14 overs. Fast-medium Tahir Maqsood finished with a haul of four for 76.

Sialkot’s opening bowlers Naved-ul-Hasan and Zahid Saeed struck early as Multan lost two wickets for just one run on the board. Opener Yasir Arafat and Saeed Anwar, both left-handers,

failed to open their account. Usman Tariq contributed 32 off 62 balls to follow his first innings 53 but six wickets were gone for just 62 scored. Multan were still 109 runs in arrears.

Pakistan captain Inzamam, who had dropped himself to number seven, hit a sparkling 91 off 136 balls in two hours 22 minutes in a 99-run seventh-wicket stand with the left-handed Rehan Rafiq (27). Another 34 were added to the eighth wicket with Kamran Hussain (23) but the end result was not good enough.

The best Sialkot bowler was the medium-fast Tahir Mughal, who got 3-33 from his 11 overs. Skipper Shoaib Malik, left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman and new-ball bowler Naved-ul-Hasan all bagged two wickets each. The left-arm paceman Zahid Saeed, who took 4-37 in the first innings and has been invited to the national camp for preparation for the tour by the Indians, had to be content with just Saeed Anwar’s wicket.

Promoted in the batting order to number three, Tahir Mughal blasted an unbeaten 25 off just eight deliveries as Sialkot reached 50 for one in a mere 5.4 overs. First-innings centurion Imran Nazir had earlier returned after hammering 15 runs off 12 balls.

Sialkot and Peshawar have now gone to the top of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy points table, with one win and a draw each from two matches. According to the schedule, Multan are now supposed to play against Quetta in their Quaid-e-Azam Cup National One-day Tournament and the third-round Quaid-e-Azam Trophy matches here at the Multan Cricket Stadium from next Sunday. But the programme might undergo a change as a court stay order against the composition of the Quetta team is still pending.

Sialkot, who beat Multan in a Quaid-e-Azam Cup limited-over match on Sunday — also by nine wickets, will now go back home where Peshawar will be touring to play against them at the Jinnah Stadium, in their Quaid-e-Azam tournaments matches, also from Sunday.
