Q & Ans

Re: Q & Ans

no one ?

ok, Ghusl is performed in a manner which is very specific:

Gargling - so that each part of the mouth is not left unwashed

Placing water in the nostrills - making sure water reaches the soft part of the bone

Pouring water all over the body - making sure that not even a hair is left unwashed, carefully pouring water and rubbing to make sure water reaches everywhere.

Re: Q & Ans

What does "Quran" mean?

Re: Q & Ans

From Wikipedia:
The original usage of the word qurān* is in the Qur'an itself, where it occurs about 70 times assuming various meanings. It is a verbal noun (*[maṣdar](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masdar)*) of the [Arabic](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic) verb *qaraa (Arabic: قرأ), meaning “he read” or “he recited”, and represents the Syriac equivalent qeryānā which refers to “scripture reading” or “lesson”. While most Western scholars consider the word to be derived from the Syriac, the majority of Muslim authorities hold the origin of the word is qaraa* itself.[21]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur'an#_note-EoI-Q) In any case, it had become an Arabic term by Muhammad's lifetime.[2]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur'an#_note-Britannica) Among the earliest meanings of the word Qur'an is the "act of reciting", for example in a Qur'anic passage: *"Ours is it to put it together and [Ours is] its* qurān".[22]](Quran - Wikipedia) In other verses it refers to “an individual passage recited [by Muhammad]”. In the large majority of contexts, usually with a definite article (al-), the word is referred to as the “revelation” (tanzīl), that which has been “sent down” at intervals.[23]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur’an#_note-17)[24]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur’an#_note-18) Its liturgical context is seen in a number of passages, for example: "So when al-qurān *is recited [by Muhammad], listen to it and keep silent"*.[25]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur'an#_note-19) The word may also assume the meaning of a codified scripture when mentioned with other scriptures such as the [Torah](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tawrat) and [Gospel](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Injil).[26]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur'an#_note-20) The term also has closely related [synonyms](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synonym) which are employed throughout the Qur'an. Each of the synonyms possess their own distinct meaning, but their use may converge with that of *qurān in certain contexts. Such terms include kitāb (“book”); āyah](Āyah - Wikipedia) (“sign”); and sūrah (“scripture”). The latter two terms also denote units of revelation. Other related words are: dhikr, meaning “remembrance,” used to refer to the Qur’an in the sense of a reminder and warning; and hikma, meaning “wisdom,” sometimes referring to the revelation or part of it.[21]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur’an#_note-EoI-Q)[27]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qur’an#_note-21)

Re: Q & Ans

Good Job Immu and CR.
Now a difficult one.
Who lead the namaz a janaza of our holy prophet:saw2: ?

Re: Q & Ans

^ I believe no one did the actual Janaza, people were so sad and the room was filled with people so everyone basically prayed for him but there was not a proper janaza.

While at this another similar question came to mind.

After the death of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) how long did they waited before burying his body?
