Islamabad High Court today refused to give stay in the proceedings of Parlimentary Committe of Education but Supreme Court gave a stay even after all judges went home except one or two. ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday issued a stay order, suspending the National Assembly Standing Committee’s investigation into the case of Farah Hameed Dogar.
SC’s former deputy attorney general had filed a petition requesting inactivation of the NA Standing Committee for Education into the Farah Hameed’s case.
SC Judge, Justice Zawar Jafri, giving his remarks, said the Committee has no authority to demand records in connection with the above investigation or carry out the probe.
SC issued separate notices to chairmen Federal Board of Education and NA Standing Committee for Education, staying the hearing of the case indefinitely.
