Pakistan Television Corporation has come a long way since TV entered into Pakistan via the NEC-Japan after a short period of trial and limited circuit telecast of educational programs at Lahore and Karachi.
This thread is an attempt to bring out each and every PTV drama whether a telefilm, or a single play or a series or a docu-drama or a serial…telecast from ALL the Centres of PTV since the time the first proper centre or a station was established in Lahore on 26th November-1964 and formally inaugurated by President of Pakistan Field Marshall Mohammad Ayub Khan.
This could be an attempt in vain…but my threads die-hard cause I am alone capable of streaming them—till I feel that the very purpose has been achieved.
Please contribute by mentioning the PTV plays you remember. If there is a repeat…let it be…as we would eventually arrive at a conclusion to filter out the exact number of plays PTV has given to its viewers so far.
Thank you for your participation…
I will be adding to the list the plays I remember and a bit or two info. behind it..which may interest the reader!
Best,
Raju Jamil, PTV debut from Karachi Centre on 2nd December-1967
when PTV-Karachi Centre was inaugurated on 26th Nov-1967.
Please do share your experiences of working on ankahi, uncle urfi, and other classics.
