There cannot be an alliance with Musharraf. If Khurshid Kasuri met him (I dont know yet) it may be for private reasons as the party has nothing to communicate to Musharraf except looking for justice in the case of Akbar Bugti and the destruction caused by our participation in the War of Terror - Dr. Arif Alvi , Secretary General PTI Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf [Offical page]

okay guys, Mushrraf is going to be a reality soon. Should people consider alliances with him if he is trialled in court and gets acquitted? (unlikely but just a scenario)

I think he is. I personally rate him more than Zardari and NS BUT I dont want to see his alliance with PTI. But I was just thinking that if by a miracle he gets acquitted from SC or gets a 6 month sentence or something, he can claim that he has been punished or justice has been served, he may well have to play some sort of role in Pak politics.
I met a friend of mine who is an active APML dude in dubai and meets him often and the indications are there that SC may not act as drastically against him as expected.

The only thing which can haunt him is Bugti Case, that is where he may face some brutal punishment... other than that, i don't think the federal govt is going to file any case of treason as on Nov 03's emergency plus...
But if what you say is true, then there are greater chances of Mushy+PTI alliance...

I hope so, but the tricky statement such as "all-circumstances" and "Accidental Meetings" tells another tale... i believe most of new entrants in top position of PTI believes in the same thing you said above, that is, if Mushy gets clear.. what is wrong in having alliance with him.... 12 Jan is just days away.. let us see what happens

Its not just the new entrants to be honest. I know some of the old group of IK believe it too. Kasuri certainly did not meet him on PTI agenda but discussions did take place before that through a common friend of IK and Mush in which IK and SMQ discarded the idea outright.
But for that they are not going to fight Musharraf's battle for him. IK's biggest asset in the party is JH who he simply cannot afford to lose. And IK has told JH that he will not entertain any such Musharraf idea and Musharraf will be trialled as per people's wishes. If he gets cleared, fair enough. Because People in pakistan believe in SC more than anything so he may become a tad bit more acceptable for any party let alone PTI.

Well If PTI makes an alliance with Mushy it certainly will lose any goodwill/leverage they otherwise might have to convince the Baloch's that they can have their crisis resolved. It would be an outright suicide for PTI if anything like that happens.
As far as development of the country is concerned, no doubt a lot happened during Musharraf's tenure, but Bugti will haunt him. Lets see what happens in the future as our politics is very unpredictable.
