Re: PTI increases pressure - penetrates in Interior Sindh
Good discussion but its mainly focused on urban Sindh. We all know that MQM's grip on Karachi has loosened in last 5 years. The amount of votes went for PTI in Bhai's strong hold areas of Karachi and the way he reacted to Rabta Committee and zimedaran, told us the real picture (nashay mein taqreer karne ke nuqsanaat). I don't think IK should approach MQM. The latter won't leave its way of violence, land grabbing, extortion and black mailing. Once that party was known for educated middle-class, but we all know how much Ghori, Sattar, Qaim Khani, Kamal and Rizvi has made in Musharraf's time and how Bhai thrashed them publicaly. This is not going to work. And as some one said here that the free and fair election demand of PTI will directly collide of electoral strategies of MQM. We all have seen massive rigging in Karachi, where a 8 year old caste vote and shows off to family and neighbors. In a real free and fair election in Karachi, PTI will win in atleast 6 constituencies easily.
The real question is what can SMQ do in interior Sindh apart from Gothki and few other northern cities. A voter that is neither mureed, PMLF or Mumtaz Bhutto's supporter nor a Bhutto follower, can he be mobilized and come out on election day without transportation arrangements and Biryani plate? Is there such a voter in Interior Sindh that knows what PTI stand for, their Naya Pakistan concept, corruption free Pakistan? Anyone knows the dynamics there?
Again, I am not saying PTI CAN actually win any seat in Interior, but having 10K to 25K would also be a win. Same as in Karachi we witnessed in 2013, people did come out and voted for first timer PTI in tens of thousands, though no seats won. But the message is clearly spread there.
