Unfortunately, the posts that matter are in the posession of people who are fuedals, industrialists, CEOs, kabza group etc. and all such individuals whose success can merely be defined by greed and injustice.

^ Unfortunately this is the ignorance that normal parties suffer from. If you dont see any value in a common man being elected at a grass root level by locals then you probably dont get the over all concept of local governance.
Yes top positions are occupied by whatever you said, but now a common man like him has a platform to get his opinions to the people up in the hierarchy. Which is a step in right direction.

^ after all the parties ruling the country now democratically have ended the local government system that was introduced by a 'dictator'. The same thing can be witnessed in the elections of those parties as well.

PPP, MQM and even PMLN to some extent along with other parties, are all common people at grass root level. Does that really matter, mostly because they are minions of no importance?
I would be happy if a demand is made to strip ranks of the likes of SMQ, Kausuris and the other such party officials out of the party and bring back sincere PTI leaders like Shireeen Mazari on the front lines, that would be praiseworthy rather than going goo goo gaa gaa over some rickshaw driver being elected at grass root level.

p.s. As for the PTI internal elections in KP, I do not have a link but I saw a news clip on Geo showing how there were violent clashes, air firing, death threats, and alleged rigging in alot of these polls. Anyone else seen that clip?

There will always be clashes even if you hold these elections THE MOST organised way ever. I am sure there will be lots of lessons that can be learnt to improve the process in future.
As for bringing Shireen Mazari for SMQ/Qasuri etc, i think better option for Mazari was to stay in the party and contest elections.

KOHAT, Feb 4: A tailor has been elected district president of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) by defeating a millionaire in the intra-party elections.
According to results of PTI intra-party elections, Hamayun Pehlawan, a tailor by profession, and Mohammad Arif, who sells snacks at his stall, have been elected district president and Lachi tehsil president, respectively, of the party.
PTI chairman Imran Khan while congratulating the new office-bearers expressed the hope that candidates belonging to middle class would be fielded in the general elections to steer the country out of the present crises. He said that he would award tickets to those candidates, who could not be corrupted and could resolve problems of people.
According to observers, election of poor candidates in the PTI intra-party polls has shocked local leaders of other political parties.
