Re: Property mania in Pakistan..
I would wait to see how the current situation unfolds. as ofright now property market is a little subdued compared to a few months ago. you dont want to buy at its peak and face a loss.

Re: Property mania in Pakistan..
just a comment ..
The place where i come from is called Toba Tek Sigh. and Even at that place the land prices have just sky rocketed like anything.. and most of it has been made possible due to Pounds coming from UK and dollars coming from US. and a person earning almost 50 k pm cannot think of getting a plot in situation like this.
reli makes me nervous to my future IF i can ever own a home in even that remote place.
so much for property boom :(
Re: Property mania in Pakistan..
Proceed with caution bhai jaan
as it turns out - most of the schemes are fraud
Re: Property mania in Pakistan..
Oh the post is still going on ... in my opinion after thes eyears I have seen in Lahore and Punjab( I travel a lot in Punjabfor my job) that prices in even small cities has risen sharply..
But best buy at this time is some agricultural land! the prices are rising like anything.. or commercial plot say in Gulberg Lahore...
Re: Property mania in Pakistan..
Do NOT invest in property until atleast the budget. There was a proposal floating around that the govt. wanted to bring wealth tax back in the shape of zakaat. If they go ahead with it, prices will fall further. I would wait till the budget.
Re: Property mania in Pakistan..
I don't know much about the property market in pakistan... I have only been to Pakistan once. But I am thinking about going there within the year for a few weeks on a fact-finding mission, and perhaps making my first investment there.
Don't do it man!! Property here is sold many times over with multiple owners! You cannot come to Pakistan for a couple of weeks and buy property. Only do so if you can rely on relatives (with contacts) to do the investigation for you beforehand.
Best place to buy according to my sources is defence phase 2 extension in Islamabad. Is this true? I have given up buying in Karachi and am hoping for a huge crash in khi after which I will purchase some land. I have told Altaf bhai of my plans and hopefully during the elections, he can create some disturbances in the city. Just need to convince Qazi sahib of the same!
