Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

I wish them a successful married Life. she is just ok

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

***She looks ordinary…she does not have that kind of air about her like Diana had…the charisma , charm and elegance is missing !

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

Yeah, I don't think she's ugly by any stretch, just v.ordinary and am finding the reports that call her 'stunning' so fake and contrived.. why not just call her attractive or whatever and leave it at that.. fawning over her looks and style when everyone knows she is really just 'girl next door' seems really odd and being honest also a bit pathetic to me.. I'm not a staunch republican or anything, just v.irritated by the press obsession with her and the very obvious OTT spin..

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

I think its quite exciting and if we all get a Bank Holiday for it, even better.

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

Apparently lots of 2011 brides are very concerned…

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

I find her elegant and very beautiful. A Worthy successor to Princess Diana.

I wish them all the best.

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

I liked diana,

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

I don't make it a habit to badmouth deceased folk, and i have nothing but admiration for all the charity work she did.....but Diana was not the innocent paragon of virtue that she made herself out to be.

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

The wedding date is on 29th april and its gona be public holiday so in total we get 4 days off and thts all I care about :yahoo:

Also the so called gorgeous see through dress she wore on a charity event of St. Andrews was absolutely hideous and apparently Prince saw her in it and fall in love :smack:

Re: Prince William and Kate Middleton tying the knot

^Agree, it was hideous.. The world has gone crazy:**

Making fashion history: Kate Middleton’s £30 see-through dress could sell for £100,000**

The sheer dress which made Prince William fall for Kate Middleton has been languishing in the back of a wardrobe for years - but could now be worth £100,000. The Prince first set eyes on his future bride as she walked the catwalk for a charity fashion show at St Andrews University.

It was reportedly love at first sight as Kate showed off her curves in the silk outfit, designed by fashion student Charlotte Todd. She has already turned down an offer of £1,000 for the dress and has vowed never to sell it - but experts estimate it could fetch a staggering £100,000.

Iconic: Former designer Charlotte Todd with the sheer dress that Kate Middleton wore when Prince William fell for her has been valued at £100,000

William was photographed looking mesmerised at the brunette, whose underwear was clearly visible under the sheer garment. After the show, the dress was returned to Charlotte, who packed it away in her mother’s wardrobe, where it has remained.

Auctioneers have now claimed the item’s price could rocket up to a six-figure sum, but added fanatical Royal collectors could make its true value limitless. They said Kate’s dresses would take their place alongside her late mother-in-law Princess Diana’s outfits as some of the most desired clothes in the world.

Christine Satchett, from South London auctioneer’s Greasbys, said: 'With important Royal items like this, if someone has got the money they will just keep on bidding. ‘I imagine she could get someone to pay £10,000 for it now. But in years to come if Kate was on the throne it could reach up to £100,000. The price could just go up ten-fold - it was the same with Princess Diana’s clothes.’

Charlotte, who has not pursued a career in fashion design and now works in an aquarium, yesterday spoke of her pride in playing such a key role in Royal history. Charlotte, now 31, hopes the dress will one day end up in a museum like many of Princess Diana’s iconic outfits.

She said: ‘I couldn’t believe it when I heard William and Kate were getting married - I was so happy for them both. Then when I realised she would become Queen I started to appreciate the significance of it all. The dress is a part of fashion history - the moment William could first have fallen in love with Kate - and that makes me really proud. I only made it as a skirt, but they pulled it up on Kate and she wore it as a dress. Maybe if it hadn’t have been see-through, William might not have noticed her. I definitely think it has a played a part in the Royal love story.’

The rookie designer, from Bedminster, Bristol, revealed the dress cost just £30 to put together back in 2000. She spent a week knitting the silk fabrics before adding a ribbon trim to finish off the eye-catching black and gold piece. The elegant slip dress - based on a brief called the ‘art of seduction’ - was then added to the collection for her fashion and textiles degree at the University of the West of England.

It was not until 2002 that Charlotte was contacted out of the blue by St Andrews University, to use her item in its annual charity fashion show. The exclusive ticket-only event saw a host of sexy models take to the catwalk to strut wearing some of the biggest labels in fashion, including Giorgio Armani and Prada. But Charlotte’s striking outfit caught the eye of the organisers, who cherry-pick clothes from the most talented up-and-coming student designers.

Work of art: The piece took a week to make and was originally a skirt but Kate opted to wear it as an eye-catching dress instead

**The Prince reportedly paid £200 for a VIP front row seat and was captivated when Kate hit the runway wearing just a bra and knickers under the see-through dress. The resulting photographs of Kate and William at the fashion show were splashed across the world.
**
Charlotte had no idea her garment was to be modelled by the future Queen.

She said: ‘She looked fabulous in my dress - she had the perfect figure for it. I designed my dress for a size eight to 10, so Kate was a great clothes horse to show off my design. Her body was the exact right shape to pull it off. I would love to know what she thought of the dress - she was only 19 at the time and that picture has been used so much over the years. I always wonder whether she is embarrassed about it, or liked it. The picture of her on the catwalk went everywhere and was absolutely thrilled when Kate was finally named as Prince William’s girlfriend. But I never thought it would last between them.’

While Kate has the world’s greatest fashion designers banging down her door to make a wedding dress for her big day, Charlotte was content with a £180 snip on eBay. Now she admitted her own world-famous frock had not seen the light of day since it propelled Kate to stardom.Charlotte said: 'The dress has been in my parent’s wardrobe for the last eight years - no-one has worn it since and I don’t want them to either.

‘I thought about selling it on eBay and a newspaper offered me £1,000 for it, but I am reluctant to part with it. I don’t think I’ll sell it - I want it to be in a collection of Kate’s Royal dresses in future. She looked fabulous in my dress and I think she could become a style icon like Princess Diana - so the dress could become part of fashion history. The only person I’d probably give it to is her - maybe in exchange for a wedding invitation! Of course I would love to design her wedding dress too.’
