Re: Pressure in getting married
This is the part I don’t understand and maybe it needs it’s own thread.
I’ve known so many guys and girls who married straight out of college (age of 21ish). They then go around places, enjoy life and don’t have kids until another four years. This means, they enjoyed life, got to know each other and then moved to the next step in their lives. This conception that guy or girl will not be able to do anything after marriage is just sad. What better way to know each other and even add the cushion just incase it doesn’t work out (I pray it works for everyone).
On the other side of our ring, we have this culture where guys and girls don’t even consider marriage until 30. Why? Now let’s suppose they get lucky and find someone within a year, that’s 31, now. How much time will they get for each other until they can have kids? I know my body. If I get married at 31 and my wife has kids at that time, I will be 52 with back, knee and eye problems, let alone enjoy anytime with them or ever get to see the grand kids. Why? Because I’ll be looking for my heart and diabetes pills. Not just that, I don’t just want to be young for my kids, I also want to be young for my wife.
I hear this from married couples all the time that I have no idea the feeling of looking at your first born child. It changes perspective in life all together.
What’s sad is the fact that goras are now getting married at an earlier age while desis are getting married later. That’s just awesome. While we have directions from our religion to get married earlier, we don’t. This includes me. At times, I wished my parents would have started to introduce me to families right out of college. I would have been angry at them during that time, but thanked them a decade later.
Rebellious nature at an early age will cause regret because one doesn’t know what they missed out on.
You know what they say, if kids don’t hate their parents, parents didn’t do a good enough job. That’s metaphorically speaking folks. Don’t go jihad on me.
The more days I get older, I learn the significance of getting married earlier.
Sorry for my rant of the day fellow guppans. I just had to get that out.
I was talking about there being anything wrong with getting married young I was talking about people here in the west being more obsessed if you like with getting marriage out of the way almost as if it is choar…
There is nothing wrong with getting married early as long as both parties are mentaly and financially ready. I hope you find someone soon..Inshallah
