After u turn off the heat from the pressure cooker, ALWAYS ALLOW IT TO COOL FIRST. Then using a long handle of a spoon, slightly pull the weight thing upwards to release the steam. ONLY AFTER THE STEAM HAS ALL BEEN RELEASED THAT WAY, TAKE OFF THE LID.
(but my cooker "exploded" while it was still cooking on the gas) :(
I think the heat may have been set to high?
but overall I think the cookers are not bad! they are excellent if you know how to use them. I think both times that it had happened - I was in a rush to have something on the table :( cause I was late from work/traffic :( and on top of that I had to clean up the mess :(
