Re: President Musharraf and Pakistan
Brothers, I never compared President Musharraf with President General de Gaulle, President General Washington or for that matter President General Eisenhower. I just mentioned as an example that history has many Presidents in uniform, even from countries with known democracy.
The person I compared President Musharraf was with General Cromwell, because he came to power in UK using military under his command. Cromwell kicked royalist (similar to corrupts like BB and NS of Cromwell’s time) hard using military force under his command. Cromwell also kicked church power (similar to retarded Pakistani mullahs of Cromwell’s time) hard using military force under him.
Later, though Cromwell declined to become king, became ‘Lord Protector’ for life, to protect British democracy from British royalists (Pakistani corrupts) and British church (Pakistani retards). He kept manipulating and effectively controlled both ‘House of Commons’ (similar to Pakistani parliament) and ‘House of Lords’ (similar to Pakistani Senate) throughout his life (as most likely President Musharraf might do).
General Cromwell is considered as the champion of British democracy, as even though British democracy was much older than his time, he effectively made British democracy effective and gave real tooth to it. You can say that General Cromwell was father of present day British democracy. Hopefully, President Musharraf may also leave Pakistan with similar effective democracy.
bhai wah. kya misaal dee aap nay. Dil he jeet liya. Oliver sahib ki poori story toh sunain. Unki wafaat kay baad kya hua? It's easy to draw parallels between them only becuz both of them wore unifrom but as far as development of a democratic culture or any democratic reforms under Musharraf r concerned, there's nothing much to write home about.
