Things are messed up.
But forgive me for saying tha,t it did not start now.
If I remember correctly “jaleel ul qader” sahaba use to slaughter ppl, who were blasphemous.

So why worrying so much when a “jannah” craving dude slaughter some one ??

Easiest way to go to hell is ‘bohtan’ (lying about others). So, please try to avoid baseless accusation (bohtan) on Sahabas. No Sahaba did what you are claiming.
