I noticed that too. Actually same thing happened when Obamas were in the white house. Michelle Obama refused to cover her head in Saudi meeting but she wore a black long dress and a black veil while meeting the pope. If that is not blatant discrimination then I don’t know what is.

The vatican has a strict dress code while meeting the pope - and they uphold it for everyone from commoners to the queen of england.
saudi has no requirement non-saudis cover hair while meeting their goatee wala king who isnt particularly islamic at the end of the day.
best part of the trip so far - Melania is not making it a secret of how much she despises orange fool - swatting his hand away contemptuously in israel, same thing in rome.

Pop invited them at his private residence… that has dress code rule…
Pop only allow few catholic families to wear white dress while most visitor supposed to wear black clothes…I don’t think there is any discrimination…
Host supposed to let them know the dress code… I am not sure if Al Saud Family did proper communication.. But in case of Vatican… they had this policy… since ages…
Top Saudi don’t follow their own law of land… and they give same opportunity to foreigners of powerful countries… The living example of such case is the Saudi Aramco Complex in Kingdom… where you can see night club, bars, theater, swimming pool…

^^^In past King Faisal refused to meet such ladies whatever their positions were. They had to cover their heads appearing before the respected King. I think his son also followed the same routine. Secondly only Muslims were allowed to enter holy city of Mecca. How in the hack he was allowed to enter the sacred place?
