A color blind person is still right to say that the sky is blue. :-)
There's a fine line between self-conflict/contradiction and hypocrisy, and it's difficult to gauge when one crosses the line.
I think if a person is not the best at, say, following their faith but sincerely tries to then sure...they can rightly have strong views.
If they take a pick-and-choose approach, or think they are exempt from certain things, or even take an arrogant approach to their practice (i.e. using it to gloat over you) then I'd pay no mind.
