This thread reminds me of Annie's song Mahiya. It is not only the boy who promises the girl but in fact sometimes it is the girl who runs after the boy, pushing him for marriage. Just check the lyrics.
Before marriage, promises are made, eternal love is talked of, affections are conveyed but the sad truth is that it is all bullcrap. Most of the times, the person completely changes once they are married to you. They forget all those promises they made to you when it was time for your marriage. Then the girl or guy sings this song "kaha gaye tumhare woh waadey tumhari woh baatain"

They make promises because the girl is playing hard to get. It is a two way street mate. If the girl is easy she will be just another whore they can pick up from anywhere. She plays hard to get, they make promises etc and once they get her and marry her they get this sense of achievement and they stop working hard. Girls need to still play hard to get after marriage to make them keep on loving them.

but then he never made unrealistic promises to begin with... nor did i :)
the day a guy tells u he will get u the moon, kick him in the rear and move on.
the day a girl tells u money doesnt matter again, kick her in the rear and move on.
neither have a mature head to get married in the first place.

LOL Its not that the guy won't get you the moon ... but the prob is what would the other guys promise on then. See its just cuz of these technical difficulties ... we have to look out for each other ... r
