I agree with here but but i’ll say its compulsory that one must leave everthing and head to the Masjid to offer namaaz. There are some verses from Quran and hadith prove that it is obligatory to offer namaaz in Masjid. I’ll quote one hadith as a reference:

**Book “Call to Prayers (Adhaan)” of Sahih Bukhari. Hadith No. 617
**
Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is I was about to order for collecting fire-wood (fuel) and then order Someone to pronounce the Adhan for the prayer and then order someone to lead the prayer then I would go from behind and burn the houses of men who did not present themselves for the (compulsory congregational) prayer. By Him, in Whose Hands my soul is, if anyone of them had known that he would get a bone covered with good meat or two (small) pieces of meat present in between two ribs, he would have turned up for the ‘Isha’ prayer.

Prophet [saws] never ever made it obligatory on Muslims to pray in Masjid…feelings are one thing and issuing a verdict is another thing. surely, the Prophets [saws] would have NOT been happy with people praying at home. Huzoor [saws] himself missed praing in jamaa’at just to show the ummat that it’s NOT obligatory to pray with jamaa’at just like he intentionally missed taraaveeH prayers to show the ummat that taraaveeH is NOT farz.

you may believe what you would like to but i have firm faith that it’s NOT obligatory upon Muslims to pray in Masjid with jamaa’at. however, it’s highly recommende.
