Many thanks everyone for your duas. I came back home today afternoon.

The doctors thought it was a bacterial arthiritis after looking at the fluid extracted from the knee. They had plan to go ahead with the operation the same day but my knee responded very well to the antibiotic intravenous infusion so they postponed the operation till they get the result from the lab.
It were the most stressful three days of us life thinking about them opening my knee and washing it with water... the whole scene looked scarry.
Reports came with good news and bad news. Good news was that the infection was very minor and was taken care of by the 28 intravenous infusions they gave me over last three days. But the bad news is that the liquid contains loads of needle shaped urate crystals :-( that confirms gout. I will have to see my rheumatologist early next week to get rid of them and to change my lifestyle to minimise my urea intake for life.

aww Daagh, good to know that you are feeling better and gout isn’t really that bad.. even though it involves a life style change for food (avoid purine rich foods) but still it can be relieved by proper diet and medication.

Hi Daagh bhai...
Just wanted to say that my husband had gout..and he has suffered quite badly in the past few years.
He is supposed to take some tablets daily - allu purinol or sumthing like that.
Recently we found out that Celery seed tablets from a health food shop should help....we are going to buy these as soon as he finishes his current batch of the drugs.
They say that GOUT is a rich man's disease!

wanna_be, i have been taking allopurinol since 3 months when my rheumatologist had doubt about gout when i had a swollen ankle few months back. one of my friends suggested few drops of knotgrass extract. I dont think it is helping :halo: please let me know about this celery seed tablets.
