Mama its really sad but you have to stand up to the challenge and please try to comfort him as much as you can I know its hard but this is life my dear.

Yes Diva prayers do wonders a recent survey shows patient who were prayed for made speedy recovery and hopefully mamas prayers will be answered and his beloved dad will make a speedy recovery.

As for myself, I'm a wreck. I called my parents to let them know I got a "heads up" from my sister about things not looking good and I wanted to tell them that I'm strong and willing to do everything and anything to help. I did get to say these things to their answering machine but only thru my desperate sobs. I have to get a grip here. But the grief is just so very overwhelming, its like I got hit by an express train. I've dealt with some totally serious issues in my time but there has never been anything like the pain I'm forced to face today.
May God/Allah help us get thru this and bless all of you for your prayers.

I am sorry to hear about your dad. Whatever you do, dont give up hope, insha'Allah. You can join a support group as others have stated, and also read up on different methods of treatment. Read up on the condition so that you will not be surprised at the different things your dad may have to go through, and so you can be well informed of his needs, etc.
I wish I paid more attention in Anatomy class so that I could have been more helpful with information but I can direct you to some good sites, if you wish. Just PM me if you'd like them.
May he get better soon and may Allah make it easy on your family in this difficult time, Ameen.

This jounal gives updated knowledge of various cancer and its treatment. Pls. try to know more about his cancer type, and available treatment, that wud give you and ur family member strength to go through this equipped with more knowledge and you will be able to give your father encouragement and hope through this knowledge. All of our prayers are with you.
Just remember, whenever an affliction or tribulation strikes, it’s from Allah (SWT) and it has great rewards. “A Sahabia once stumbled and hurt her foot, and she started laughing. People said, are you a mujnoona? You hurt urself and u r laughing? She said, I hurt myself, but when I thought of that Hadith that a believer doesn’t get a thorn in his foot except that it removes some wrong from you or there’s a better reward for you, so the sweetness of my wrongs being removed overwhelmed my pain”. The gist is have faith in Allah SWT and He’s the only one who can cure your father and can grant you patience to go through this.

Whenever I am hard pressed, I listen to this cd and believe me it gives me great comfort. I lost someone dear to Cancer, so I can understand ur pain. Be patient, and pray to Allah (SWT), may he give your father a speedy recovery, Ameen, Sum Ameen.

Mama, i am so sorry to learn about your dad’s health. May Allah give him health and a long life, Ameen!!! Your dad is in my prayers! He needs you the most right now so make sure you and the rest of the family are taking good care of him!

I just wish nothing bad happen to anyone's parents. Theres nothing as blessing as the mere presence of one's parents in this world.

More prayers for my Dad
...thank you so very much, all of you who gave so much support and encouragement. My dad isnt doing well. The lung cancer has metastasized to his brain, too much to have surgery. He will undergo chemo and radiation starting tomorrow to improve quality of life. But he doesnt have very long. I still cannot beleive this. I was just a few months ago trying to convince him to try-out for "Survivor" that TV show. He's a Navy guy, fighter pilot, engineer, doesnt look half his age, he's of Scottish origin and could be compared to Sean Connery. Of anyone on the planet I've always thought that surely HE is invincible. Please keep him in your prayers.
