hi everyone.
need some help from you guys.. i am from grand rapids Michigan.. so its hard to find desi stuff here but i am wondering does anyone here know some rasams for mehndi and shadi.. that my cousins can do for our mehndi and shadi. pleae let me know?
mehendi rasams are usually feeding mithai, putting mehendi in the palms of the bride/groom, circling over their heads with money, etc. at least thats what we're doing! haha
also theres usually dancing and music, and also in the beginning, the girls walk in with trays of mehendi and candles, and then the bride walks in with her guys under a dupatta.
shaadi ones i have no idea of. get married, have an awesome time and eat cake! :p

what do you guys think about this dress and the color combination. i kind of like it but at the same point i don’t, i can point out what i like and what i don’t. i just want some comments that if i get something like that for my wedding would ppl like it as a good wedding dress, or just “another wedding dress”???

wen u luk carefully at the dress it looks really nice, i agree thers somethin about it that puts u off im thinkin maybe its the brides makeup an jewellry that dont go with it,or the fitting, i dnt mean it in a nasty *****y way.

The color combination is alright, seems like it’d be better for trosseau or a mehndi outfit (lime/parrot green with hints of red), or if you want this as ur wedding dress combo, I’d use hte green as an accent touch, like the border of the sleeves and lengha, rather than having ti as the main second color…The thing I dislike most is the shading part, the lengha looks cut in half.. me no likey. I’ll comment on the jewelery and makeup and fitting later, coz ic ant see it properly on this screen.

im sorry yanzala, hon, but the colors are atrocious. if its this vibrant in pictures, she must have blinded people in person! lime green and red are best suited to little girls, not lovely brides, i think. if you really want red, pick another secondary color or like someone else suggested, use the lime sparingly. i love the concept of the shading, but it would have been so much nicer if it was tone or tone or close. my best friend's wedding lehenga was maroon and it faded into a lighter tone of maroon and then shocking pink. sounds weird, but holy **** was it gorgeous! maybe do two shades of red to get a more elegant look?

How weird–I’ve met this girl before. They’re Afghani. Whenever she goes to a Pakistani function, the boys (like my own brothers) drool over her because she looks different from the desi girls (and she takes full advantage of that, lol).

hey thanks for the help, now since you mentioned and the other person too, i do realize the color combination is too bright.
i don't know what i want for my wedding, but i want something beautiful, different and traditional. but not some shocking color, too goddy or so-many-things-thrown-in kinda look.
i will be waiting for your comments on the jewelry:)

i also like the idea of 2 different colors fading in to each other i just don’t like the idea of one color dress with gold/silver embroidery i was also thinking about lighter shade of blue like turquoise or darker shade of green like mehndi green what do u think??

Gosh i've seen sooo many gorgeous pix here girl, i'm sure u can get an idea!
Now...the jewelery is alright, not bad but looks very generic...If you really like this color combo, I'd suggest it for your mehndi (if you have a choice on what to wear). The mehndi day is for fun and you have room for trendy color combinations..
Oh and this really makes so much difference between YOU making the outfit vs the outfit making you...get it properly fitted! That's one thing I didn't like about this dress (alot of htem in fact). I've seen so many dresses on here and they were gorgeous but guess what, the fitting was really horrible, (most often tooo loose) and it just looked like they were wearing something they borrowed from someone else...all u c is the clothes and jewelery and makeup, instead of hte irl underneath...

^^ if you're looking to mix something with red then there have been some nice lehngas & ghararas in things like red/rust, red/white, red/teal, red/blue or red/pink, just to name a few combos with red that have been nice..i think it depends on the shades and dress style/fitting as well...
