i dont believe she got exploited, from all accounts, she was teh one who approached the mag, sent them her portfolio blah blah. you don't approach sleazy mags for charity. she got what she bargained for. if you make this into an issue of national honor etc.. i think you are [edit]
If there is one thing this Veena saga has done is created a lot of argument.
What with people calling each other dumb or telling each other that they talk out of thier behinds etc.
On TV, the conservative guy telling Marvi Memon to go nude in the street if she didn't consider nudity offensive;
and Marvi turning red and telling the guy that his daugters and sisters had the complete right to go nude if they wanted.
It is all quite interesting and funny at some level.
If the ghairat brigade came out like this with half the pious zeal when someone was being honor killed, banished as a blasphemer, or tortured and disappeared for criticizing the powers that be, I'm guessing our country might not be half the pile of crap it's become.
I am no fan of veena but I agree with M_was_here as well.What is right is right & what is wrong is wrong and here the magazine's photo-shopping to that extent is WRONG as anything.
She agreed she posed topless but out of all ethical & legal laws, no magazine is allowed to morph your picture to the extent of showing you nude. What so ever, the magazine needs to be questioned for disagreement.
But what ever the case, is this news so big & important that CNN, BBC, Yahoo all need to mention it on their homepages? Which of their actresses hasn't posed nude - Angelina Jolie, Pamela Anderson, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet .. name it, what is it such a BIG deal for them?
Didn’t you know? Veena is Pakistani and therefore represents ALL of Pakistan and if she poses nude then ALL Pakistani women are going to be viewed like this and then start behaving like this if she is not jailed :halo:.

Agreed, she is no victim by a long shot, no matter how she tries to twist the story. It's not an issue of national honor either but using symbols of Pak military/ intelligence in various tacky 'topless' shots in a trashy Indian based mag is pretty demeaning to these institutions considering the situation back home right now, that's what most ppl have objection to

Cannot expect ethics from a trashy magazine, she should have known better, according to her own admission on BBC she did not sign any contract with the mag before the photoshoot, ridiculous! She has no legal grounds to stand on either because of her stupidity, basically the magazine has exclusive rights to the photos and can exploit her all they want. Lesson learnt the hard way.
Secondly, the Hollywood celebs don't play the victims afterwards and go crying to the media to gain sympathy and more exposure, making sure the whole world gets to hear their sob story and remain in the headlines. Tackiness ki bhi hud hoti hai
SO she posed topless. She’s from Pakistan. SO WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. That’s the first Pakistani woman I’ve seen who has done that [that we know of]. Doesn’t represent the culture or value system.
Can’t they revoke her nationality and send her to Afghanistan instead? Bohot maza aye ga.
