Poor Grammar

Re: Poor Grammar

Change starts at home…

I suggest you start by capitalizing the ‘i’ in your second para…

Re: Poor Grammar

^
Why only second? What crime did first para do? :(

Re: Poor Grammar

^^

And the first...Thanks...Miss Mohabbat will be happy...

Re: Poor Grammar

ha ha ha , this is one funny thread! I always thinked my English was not very rich. but these thread bringed this to my attension that I did maked mistakes in past :rotfl:

Re: Poor Grammar

"British"? LOL, I've had some british born people visiting me from UK with some pretty funny spoken English. I found it amusing especially because I found them boasting of how they were good as they spoke the "Queen's language" and making fun of people's english langauge who they'd meet on the street. I thought it was more to do with some inferiority complex. I hated to tell them how irritating it was to see them laughing at other people and at the same time seeing them speak improper english themselves with weird pronunciation. Poor guys!

Re: Poor Grammar

so you are saying MM have that issue as well! :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Poor Grammar

Oh yeah, the word "bleeded". I've heard it in several American songs.

Re: Poor Grammar

LOL, no not at all. I was merely talking out of my experience with those british born who had visited me.

Re: Poor Grammar

hehe, come on its all there! few things we just don’t say as they are supposed to be said! one have to read between the lines :stuck_out_tongue:

PS: Zombie is in nasty mood

Re: Poor Grammar

LOL, Zombie, baaz aa ja. I dont make fun of anyone... I mean when I do it's only to make them and other smile. And about someone's language... any language, I never make fun of any one but I have had people making fun of my English, Arabic and.. URDU!!!

Re: Poor Grammar

bingo! so the conclusion is that we shall not make fun of others for these silly things. leave grammer mistakes to them and don’t try to be 1940’s “peela” school headmaster.

PS: all these long replies are maked me dizzy, my head is circling now :frowning:

Re: Poor Grammar

Well, to correct politely is different but to make fun is different. Correcting is always good. Many people have told me it is, "Meri neend khul gayi." and not "Meri jaag khul gayi." (as I would normally say) and many more things in different languages. It is always good to correct else how would one learn. This is how one learns. Making fun, like these visitors used to is not a fine thing to do at all. Even the natives make mistakes. So, it is not some "out of the world" thing.

Re: Poor Grammar

I think good grammar is of paramount importance*.*
George W. Bush impresses me with his lingual skills. He's a very capable country boy. He has a 'record that is compassionated' and I feel that it will be 'he's and I's' and everyone's responsiblity to 'mentor a child how to read' and write.

Re: Poor Grammar

bursting into laughter

Re: Poor Grammar

Re: Poor Grammar

The correct is:

MY head is eating circles :yummy:

Re: Poor Grammar

Same here MM but honestly with so much work at work I cannot blame myself for changing the tense I type in or making a few mistakes here and there.

Re: Poor Grammar

Femme, im glad somebody understands.

Everybody else, aswell as checking my grammar would you please point out where I have corrected any Guppies grammar? Or at least mocked anybody due to a grammatical error in my original post? Why must you take my gripe with grammatical correctness so personal? Self-obsessed much?

Re: Poor Grammar

Well done Miss Mohabbat. Look at your post #8

it's "scientist" not Scienctist.

hmmm....LOL
