Agree 100000000000000% with Holding
In the larger interest of the game, National Cricket boards should stop being jingoistic and stop crying foul when their players are reported for chucking.
Shabbir Ahmed, for example, was as clearly a chucker as you can ever expect to see..yet the PCB and many Pak folks here make it seem as though he was wronged.
The same goes for Akhtar, Harbhajan, Murali....
Re: Politics affecting chucking issues - Holding
You can articulate by writing in bold and any other way if you may, but the fact is Shoaib Akther, Murli, Harbie-burpie and Brett lee do not chuck, M. Holding creates a slippery slope here by saying that in the lab the bowler should bowl with same intensity and speed, but he forgot one thing, you cannot create the energy and that state of euphoria that just simply gives sensation to one when you are bowling in front of 25,000 to 80,000 and to make this case strong he backs-up using the technology of slow-mo, I can bet if he shows Sreesanth, Pathan (the slower ball he bowls and off and in-cutter) Munaf, Brett Lee, S. Clark (the hero of Saffies tour), Malinga, they will fall under the category of Chuker.
You can argue the same way for the Ponting graphite bat, MCC banned that bat, the technology and independent test (according to Kookaburra) states otherwise, so why not allow that bat again, if technology gives it a green signal.
Above all Holding himself was a part of the 15 degree rule, so why didnt he oppose to it, to start with? and he uses the word "politics" very wisely, and what he says about it, to me it seems like its discrimination rather than politics for "certain players"
you can always argue for the fast bowlers, but tell me how many are side-on and front on bowlers, the so called chuckers?
Re: Politics affecting chucking issues - Holding

Re: Politics affecting chucking issues - Holding
Put the Pakistani or Indian inside you aside.
Now be judge yourself. This is RP Singh from the front. Look how his arm is bent backwards due to hyperextension (and elbow facing straight to the batsman)
Now look at Akhtar’s arm and the bend sideways and the angle. (This delivery raised eyebrows during Pak-Ind test)
Now at the time of delivery look at the position of the arm and elbow facing his head instead of batsman (sideways arm position instead of straight)
Re: Politics affecting chucking issues - Holding
Yeh Holding ne RP Singh ko kyun bina baat pe pakad liya....bechaare ka career shuru hone se pehle hi khatam ho jaayega....
Re: Politics affecting chucking issues - Holding
Then why was he let go by the testing committee? Bunch of fancy ultra-motion replays ON TV make no one an expert on biomechanics :o . I say Mr. Holding, get a physics degree and come back to me, you old bitter fool.
