Not too sure about whether ISI/MI/IB will be involved. Heard somewhere else that any agency involvement will be at the Commission’s discretion, so let’s not hold our breath about this particular bit.

Has there been a definitive statement from PTI about what this commission will involve and a time-frame?

I hope this commission does what it’s meant to and exposes the rigging every 5 year old in the country knows happened, but I don’t think it’s going to have any significant effect to be honest. Just more bluffing, stalling…

Knee jerk reaction is always a bad idea. Good decision by PTI to not return to Assemblies until Judicial Commission is formed. They’re still standing firm on their fundamental demand.

But if you read the article below, ISI, MI, and IB will be involved in the investigation. Moreover, “**the commission shall have the same powers as the Supreme Court to punish any person who abuses, interferes with or obstructs the process of the commission in any way or disobeys any order or direction, scandalises the commission or any member, does anything which tends to prejudice the inquiry.” **This is absolutely huge! This is almost unbelievable.

PMLN did not accept PTI’s demand to include ISI and MI in the investigation even when Imran was on the verge of supposedly blocking the entire country, but somehow they randomly decided to give into this demand when there is no visible pressure from PTI. This is an absolutely massive breakthrough for PTI, they asked for an empowered and independent Judicial Commission, and looks like they got it. So I really don’t understand why people are whinging that Imran lost or something. Homeboy certainly got his way. The whole thing seems like a demonstration of the proverbial saying that aim for the sky and you might reach the ceiling.
