When the prime minister and the chief minister were leaving the venue of the gathering, a crowd of protesters started shouting ‘Go Nawaz, Go’ – a slogan coined by Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) in its ongoing campaign against the government, according to Daily Express.
Local activists of the ruling PML-N, led by MPA Taufiq Butt and the party’s tehsil president Imran Mani, confronted them. They kicked and punched the protesters, forcing them to flee.
The protesters were angered by alleged discrimination in distribution of compensation money. Talking to the media after the incident, they alleged that the authorities showed nepotism and gave aid to only their relatives and kin.
After dispersing the protestors, the PML-N activists shouted slogans in favour of the prime minister and their party. MPA Taufiq Butt claimed that the protesters belonged to the PTI. However, Express News footage reveals that the man who led the protesters to chant anti-government slogans was a PML-N worker, Mushtaq Cheema, who is a resident of Khagga Mittir village. Cheema is also PML-N’s nominated candidate for union council.
Cheema exhorted people to chant ‘Go Nawaz, Go’ because he was not invited to the cheques-distribution ceremony and for being denied entry into the hall. Later the police raided Cheema’s house but found it locked while his mobile phone was also switched off.

Just to get a clearer idea of the state terrorism that is unleashed on behalf of this fascist party, one wonders why the police raided Cheema’s home? To do what? arrest him for protesting? Or arrest him for going against his/their liege lord? No wonder PMLN is referred to a the MQM of Punjab.

She is calling violence as ‘tit for tat’ response. In Nawaz Sharif’s regime, one cannot exercise his democratic right to chant anti govt slogan.

There is limit to ‘Go Nawaz Go’. PTIians have crossed that limit. No government in the world tolerates such nonsense, including India. I give credit to NS for tolerating this bs for a long period of time. This change in his attitude is remarkable.

ALL civilized governments tolerate such nonsense, except for dictatorships.

You can say shouting slogans is idiotic and not in good taste, but it is not illegal. You cannot just go and start beating up people for shouting slogans. This dictatorial attitude is what irked most of the people in the first place.

If this guys was somewhere in real democracy, his career as a politician would he been over the second he touched other person with the intent of hitting no matter what other person was shouting. You can shout all you want as soon as you touch someone, its other ball game.

And people who are saying "aur kitna bardasht kereen gai PMLN waley" and "har cheez ki had hoti hai" etc is just crap. You can chant any political slogan for however long you want. YES PMLN workers should chant back slogans backing Nawaz and out voicing PTI workers but they are not allowed to hit physically.

Please don't spread lies, when some people attacked PTV, he pleaded with people to stop such non sense and also disowned anyone attacking such institutions and also declared they will be kicked out of party. Not the same response as your Mohtarma Maryam is it?? As for people attacking Police, wasn't it during clashes where hundreds were hit with REAL bullets and illegal use of force by Police??
