**ISLAMABAD: The government has made all-out efforts to appoint the prime minister’s son-in-law Shahnawaz Mahmood as the managing director of Pakistan-Brunei Investment Company in the last five months but the Brunei government has rejected the move. Brunei also threatened to withdraw its investment, official documents available with The News disclosed.

The son-in-law has now been appointed as deputy managing director in the Pak-China Investment Company Limited. But the Islamabad High Court has granted a stay order against the notification issued by the Finance Division on March 4, 2013 and fixed date of next hearing on coming Monday on the petition filed by incumbent deputy MD Javed Mahmood.
