khud ko azmany ki khatir lia tha imtehaan us ka

wo toR gaya dori wafa ki, sab moti bikhar gaye
ada ke zo’am main usay khata ka ehsas tak na raha

tham ke hath tera chaltay rahay taptay sehra main kab tak
saalon ki musafaton ki thakan ka bhi ehsaas tak na raha

dobay yun us husn-parast ki waraftgiyon main hum
dhal jaye ga umar ka chand ik din ye ehsaas tak na raha

teri judaai ke sab dard jab se seh liye hain hansty hansty
humain wehshat e doran ki takleef ka ehsaas tak na raha

anaa ki sulagti rahon pe chal paray hum kab, kese!
apnay jalty hoye sapnon ka bhi ehsaas tak na raha

maal o mata ki chah main daikho to ho gaye hain kia se kia
ghairon ki to choron humain apnon ka bhi ehsaas tak na raha**
