What is the definition of and difference between
Mufti =** the one who gives fatawa [religious edicts]**
Ulema = plural of aalim meaning a someone who has received islamic education in its various desciplines

Mullah = urdu version of aalim
Maulana = same thing
Aalim = singular of ulema
Imam = a person who leads the prayers. he may be hired for to lead all prayers
