Reward payments to hard working law enforcers of Pakistan who risked their life on ground to arrest wanted foreign criminals is not 'pound of flesh', it is just rewards for poor employees of law enforcement agencies by those (Americans) who wanted those criminals.
I guess Musharraf himself was that only poor employee of laaaaw enforcement then, along with his outspoken chummy big armed laaaw ministur-Wasi Zaffar.
lol...If General Kiyani has to take-over out of necessity...most Pakistanis will be celebrating...dancing in the streets and distributing sweets again...Fools!
The key is stability. Our dictators fall because they are half hearted. The Chinese have been a dictatorship for 50 years, any civil advocacy is crushed. We need stability, and only a strong man can provide it. Pakistan is not a natural nation, it is a patchwork of different groups, and that formula will only lead to dismemberment if it is not checked.
I am not fan of army rule, I am a fan of stability. Investors need stability.
Exactly. Half hearted. We need full on rule, Stalin or Mao type leaders. To hell with religious sensitivity, to HR, to civil society.
South Korea was a dictatorship until 1991/2-look at then now.
China too-look at them.
Brasil for decades, undertook ISE and look they are booming.
Democracy is for civilized nations, for educated peoples...Pakistan and its people generally, are neither. Sadly.
So you agree that our previous dictator shouldnt have been such a brown nosing puppet of the west? He shouldnt have allied himself with crooked politicians and pardoned our 'new' democratic president? In essence, you are just saying our previous dictator was nothing more than a waste of 8 precious years.
Its true that he wasnt tough enough. Someone needs to come in, make it clear that there will be no move to democracy anytime soon...until stability and industrialization are done. We need a Mao.

Chairman Mao was not a military general, he was a revolutionary leader backed by people power. There is no one in Pakistan that can mobilise the whole nation into a revolution. Also the Pakistani nation is too cynical to believe in any dream sold by any revolutionary leader. Look at our history - we have always fought amongst ourselves and allowed foreigners to take advantage and rule over us. 60 years is not enough for us to change our ways. The only way is for us to squabble amongst ourselves and let a foreigner (US or Chinese) to run our country. I vote for the Chinese as US has had it's chance and has failed miserably !!
We don't need any army general. We already know how they were - all 3 Ayub, Zia and Mush!! All bunch of idiots!!!
And yes we also do not need this jageerdari in the garb of democracy. Garbage in - garbage out!
Until and unless there are land reforms, we will get these sell out zardaris, sahrifs, madaris, mazaris and lagharis. The army couldn't fix these jageerdars, infact they themselves have become a big jageerdar type class. Democracy will never fix this either. We need sincerity, and sincerity wont come out of a bunch of sellouts and losers.
So what is the solution?
Like it or not.
Only a bloody revolution!
Otherwise Pakistan or no Pakistan will keep on going like this, and we will keep on crying as we cried when we lost East Pakistan.
So from now on, just talk about a revolution and only an inqilaab.
When I was a child, I used to hear from my elders that Pakistan needs a person like "Khumeni" to fix the things and make it right. Now when I've grown up (actually getting old now), I still dont see any sighns of upcoming "Khumeni". Rather things are getting worse day by day and Pakistan is now on the verge of getting bankrupt.
There wont be any "Mao" or "Khumeni" coming. All we'll get is Zardaris and Musharrafs coming again and again in a loop!
A revolution couldnt be any worse then Pak is now. Pak is a corpse state. A failed state, unable to secure the physical safety of the people. At that point, a state isnt a state any longer.
