Picky eaters

Re: Picky eaters

I've tried a few different homeopathic appetite stimulants and none of them had any effect at all. Periactin worked really well but I only use it when my son's weight is really down, like after a sickness. It makes him very tired and can cause bad nightmares.

Something that seems to work well is zinc supplement. I give my son an extra 5 mg/day (its one of those things that can be harmful if you take too much of it so you need to be careful). But I give it to him for about a month, then stop for a month and it seems to have a good appetite boosting effect.

Thats for my eldest. He's the one who would rather starve than eat. Youngest guy is like me, loves to eat (espectially steak lol) and middle son likes to eat - as long as its chicken nuggest or sweets :( I make sure they all eat pretty balanced meals and when I give them something new, I only give them a little bit of it, tell them that they have to at least taste it and when they do, I make the hugest happy-fuss. Its exhausting lol but it works.
