Why bother? Once diwana winks at you, you will submit to his “logic”.
But I agree. I’m shocked at how cavalier some people are about their physical fitness. You get one body, at least until we all become cyborgs, might as well treat it with care.
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
The statement implies that in order to achieve various ends one needs to have the motivation to those ends, but if the precursor to those ends involves lots of hard physical work, yet the person is not physically capable then in order to reach those ends they would first have to resolve the physical barriers ...
If the physical barrier itself needs motivation to be resolved and that motivation is not present then not only will the physical issue not be resolved, but all those things that are dependent on hard physical work will also not be resolved. Physical fitness is hence a bottleneck for such ends ...
This is a kin to part of the hadith that states invest in your health before sickness afflicts you. Sickness can be in both physical and mental sickness as is health. Where apparently it means make the most of your the health while you have it, but it also means that sickness is delayed as a result of health investment ... health investment is exercise and also hygiene and study.
Naturally I'm inclined to agree with the Napoleonic insight
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
Totally agree
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
Another random thought just struck me on thandurusthi
"Nadi mein nahana thandurusthi key liye labhadayak hai"
Reference - 1970 May
Location - on the way to the river for morning bath during summer visit to Kerala village
Source - uncle who was a Hindi school teacher in Kerala
(I don't think the soap we used that morning was Lifebuoy though - most probably Chandrika
Always glad to help.
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
dude.. evening baths are the best in rivers in kerala, just after sunset. warm water. red skies. hot dinner cooked over wood fire, and papadam toasted over charcoal waiting. damn.. the best memories.
and chandrika .. lawl.. its the soap that foams like crazy, and leaves your skin dry as sandpaper. <3
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
^^ and all those wonderful memories have something to do with my thread, how
?
craving for papadam now ![]()

Evening bath in kerala river w/o <3 skin drying foaming soap - with kanal la kaachina papadam puzhungal arushi aviyal poduthool cooked over open fire. Noted for next trip. Double thandurusti ke liye labhadayak my uncle would have said.
And now for safe landing - OP AGREED
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude

Re: Physical fitness and your attitude

Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
Have said this before. My doctor provided an analogy for pursuit of fitness - like water waves consistently stricking rocks on the river bank. Gentle and consistent. Opposite of intense and in spurts. So should your attitude be towards pursuit of fitnessm
(and of course followed by bath with lifebuoy soap).
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
lifebuoy hay jahan tandrusti hay wahan lifebuoy
Re: Physical fitness and your attitude
