Happened to me once when I was at Uni. I was walking to a lecture and called mum on the way....then I hung up. Put phone back in back and must have forgotten to lock it. As I crossed the road under a huge railway bridge it must have redialled mum's number by accident and all she could hear was a train which happened to be going over the bridge!!!!
When I got to the lecture I got phone out to put on silent and it stillhad the call on screen although mum had hung up by then.....
She'd been busy calling all my friends to ask if they had seen me.....
She seriously thought I had met with an accident!!!
I didn't think anything of it until my best friend arrived for the lecture and said "Ring your mum NOW!"
The relief in mummy's voice!!
Even now when she comes up here to visit and we go under that bridge (by car or walking) she always recollects that day!!!
One day a big policeman and a policewoman turned up on our doorstep and demanded to know if we had a child in the house, without telling us why. We said no. Big angry policeman demanded we tell him the truth. We said no again. They said we have received a phonecall from this house from a child in distress, we can find out the truth!
Then i remembered out little cousins had come to visit and one had disappeared upstairs for a while. They left a few mins b4 police turned up, but when we explained this they looked suspicious.
I went upstairs and sure enough, the phone was dangling off the hook, evidence if any!
We got told off by police to ensure it wouldnt happen again, and then we were left in peace.
