The cyclone isn't the problem but the heavy rain is. I heard half of Karachi has suffered power cuts. Roads are flooded.

Its not over as of now. The hurricane actually is brushing away the Karachi coast and has yet to pass from here. Last night's showers have almost paralysed the main arteries of the city. More rains are awaited later in the evening. To quote a UN officer involved in the disaster management, "last night's showers may look like drizzle if the expected rainfall of today evening onwards actually happen" May Allah move away this storm and its accompanying weather conditions from the entire coast.
Karachi's main problem is its drainage system which drains the rain water to the sea and when there is a high tide, the system actually facilitates the sea water to flood in the drains instead of carrying the drain water to the sea.

Latest: PHET has made a land fall in between Mirpur Sakro and Garho with low intensity. It has crossed Karachi. Shukar Al Hamd O Lillah.

God has been very kind to Karachites. The system has spread over the entire province now and causing lots of rains in Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad and other parts of Sindh. May Allah keep everyone safe.
Alhamdulillah! Nice to hear that Phet was spent by the time it came ashore in Karachi, the rains are needed, Farmers will benefit!
