Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
Who knows Pakistan- as a leading Muslim country may one day become the moderator/facilitator to resolve this long standing problem.
I think it's in Pakistans interest to talk with Isreal.

Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
Whatever. They are in fact in talks with Israel themselves…
Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
jezz whats wrong with the talks!! If "falisteene" themselves are for talks then why shouldn't we! on a seprate note did ANY "Falisteene" ever cared about Kashmir talks????!
Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
Is history really that bad in Pakistan? Yasir was a commie lover, and India was commie-leaning. Pakistan was (and still is) an American puppet…so who the hell cares what Arafat had to say?
Bottom line is, groups like Hamas and Hezbullah (even though they are Shia) would not be pro-India, so it’s not as if all palestinians “love” India.
So the question is, why do we ourselves want to mimic an ass like Arafat? Where did his kissing up to India get him? Yet we Pakistanis want to do the same with respect to America and Israel.
Recognizing Israel is only of use if it denies a pawn to would-be imperalists…
Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
I strongly support relations with everyone based on our national interests and am not in favor of discrimination in the name of religion. Therefore, I strongly support Pakistan-Israel relationship if it is beneficial for our long term interests. The Pakistani religious leaders would always consider such a move against “Pakistan’s Ideology”, which, in their opinion, denounces the Zionist state for occupying holy lands but it is about time to denounce these religious leaders and their short-sightedness.
If Pakistan establishes full diplomatic relationship with Israel, here are some of the immediate advantages:
We Pakistanis have never realized the true danger posed to our nuclear program by the West. The authenticity and safety of our nuclear programme is under a serious threat especially after the confession of Dr. A.Q. Khan about his alleged involvement in nuclear black-marketing. I believe that the potential Pakistan-Israel diplomatic connection would help us in releasing the US-led western pressure from Pakistan’s nuclear programme to some extent.
Hopefully, Pakistan would also be able to counter-balance Indo-Israel relationship but I am not very optimistic about it. If nothing else, Israel has to keep some sort of balance between both countries.
Hopefully, this decision would also improve Pakistan’s image in the U.S. where pro-Jewish lobby is very strong.
In return, Pakistan being one of the largest Muslim countries and a nuclear power would assure Israel, that none of its armaments or military experience would ever be used against her in any way. Not to mention that in 1974 war, Pakistan air force and military experts provided a significant help to Arabs against Israel. In addition, acceptance of Israel by one of the largest Muslim Countries would also provide further legitimacy to Isreal’s status among the Muslim world.
However, when a country intends to make a fundamental change in one of its policies, dialogue among different circles of that society through the media and newspapers and discussion within the parliament is a prerequisite to a successful transition. It did not happen in this particular case. As usual, president Musharraf, though politically correct this time, decided to rely upon his “enlightened moderation” to make such a crucial decision. In reality, you have to create an atmosphere to convince your masses. Otherwise, it would create so much unrest among them.
Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
I was young when i left pakistan and trust me the name Arafat never appeared in any of our HISTORY text books. Do i care why Arafat supported India??? The fact is that he didn’t give a damn about so called MUSLIM brotherhood and neither should we. This doesn’t mean that we start supporting ISRAEL but we should definitely talk to them regardless of what ARABS think about us.
Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
Abbas says welcomes first Israel-Pakistan talks::
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Friday he welcomed the first public talks between Israel and Pakistan last week, a step powerful Palestinian militant groups greeted with hostility. The meeting between Israeli and Pakistani foreign ministers in Turkey signaled a diplomatic breakthrough between Israel and a major Muslim state. It was spurred by Israel's pullout from occupied Gaza, land Palestinians want as part of a future state.Abbas told Israeli Arab newspaper Kul al-Arab that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf informed him of the talks beforehand and assured him that full diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Israel would await the formation of a Palestinian state."I could not say 'no', and I said to him: 'As long as the issue will serve the Palestinian cause, then let it be,"' Abbas, breaking a public silence on the talks, told the newspaper.
A spokesman for Hamas, a powerful Palestinian militant group sworn to Israel's destruction, said Abbas's support for the talks hindered the Palestinian national cause."This is a very dangerous act to encourage other countries to normalize ties with the occupation," said Sami Abu Zuhri. "It represents serious harm to the Palestinian cause and misleads public opinion, since occupation remains on our land."
Israel evacuated all 8,500 settlers from Gaza and is to have all military forces out by next week. But it continues to expand Jewish enclaves in the West Bank where 245,000 settlers live, stripping Palestinians of land at the heart of their aspirations to a viable state.Militant groups also condemned Pakistani leaders over the dialogue with the Jewish state and staged protest rallies.Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister Nabil Shaath said initially that it was premature for Pakistan, a staunch backer of Palestinians, to offer diplomatic "gifts" to Israel.Influential Islamist factions in Pakistan denounced the talks as well.Israel has full diplomatic ties with four major Islamic countries -- Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Mauritania -- and has sought to establish links with others. But Muslim states have generally demanded Israel first pull out of all territory it occupied in the 1967 Middle East war.

Re: Petition- No To Pak Israel Talks
Bharatis buy weapons from all over the world, and so do we. Picking on Israel is just being a MAToo and worst and childish at best.
This is typical little mind at work. Pakistan is 150 million strong country while Israel is only 7 million. For Arrabobs Israel may be as big as God as they all got ar$e wooped in 48, 67, 73 and on and on. For Pakistan it is just a tiny country that needs few pats on the back. Quit comparing Pakistan with didly squat little countries from around the world. Israel needs recognition by Pakistan and all the help to stop MAToos from taking pot-shots at this tiny country.
Human rights ??? hahahha. Bunch of MAToos talking about rights thingy? MAToos killed Pakistani-Shias, Pakistani-Ahmadis, and Pakistani-Christians in their places of worship. Now the same MAToos turn around and question human right violations by others. Wah wah. Bullai Bullai.
Discussing with parliament is a great thing. A parliament willing to discuss is even greater!
