Iam with lostsoul on this one.
Reason: laws such as these have been misused as tools of exploitation, suppress dissent, intimidate minorities and impose ideas which suite those in power. When laws become exploitative, they need to be either rescinded or amended.

For all those who favor blasphemy laws, what happens if tomorrow US of A and other western countries decide that any criticism of their christian faith will be taken as blasphemy and those found guilty will be punished? Ever thought about the repercussions? Or, that minorities have rights and have always enjoyed them under Caliphs and days of the Prophet.

The minorities enjoyed religious freedom during the time of the Caliphs (and still should, no doubt). But they were not believers to begin with. If you are a believer and then attack your religion, that’s a totally different matter.
