I've noticed that, while many people do have meticulous showering and grooming habits, they don't wash their clothes very often, to keep them looking like "new." They just wear the same, funky, BO infested clothes over and over again. Even worse is when they spray tons of cologne/perfume on the clothes.

The unhygienic partner takes a shower and uses mouth wash when he feels like getting it on. Simple. It's like he has total control over the situation.
It's a case of classical conditioning. This is how it goes down the first few times and then the normally stinky spouse doesn't even have to ask for it, all he to do is perform the ritual of shower and mouth wash.

my husband smells lovely. all the time. even when hes been running on the treadmill for an hour, he still smells lovey, even his sweat smells fine.
me? i walk 5 mins and i feel im odourising bad. so i take a shower. i dnt know if i smell. but i FEEL smelly. so shower.
i dont understnand how people dont even FEEL smelly. i can smell myself a mile away.
