I believe there is a union between the flower and the leaf. The leaf gets energy from the sun and photosynthesis in order for the flower to grow. Without the leaf and its protection system, the waxy cuticle, water would be lost to the outside world. Without leaf the necessary nutrients would not reach the flower for it to live on and be healthy. Without flower the leaf and plant would not be able to reproduce. Flower is the most delicate part of a plant. The leaf grows around the flowers to provide protection to the flower. Flower petals are attractive to catch the attention of the insects and animals and then insects help the plant to reproduce. In some cases there is wind pollination as well. It is a great antagonistic union between the flower and leaf. None can live without the other. Same analogy can be used a husband and wife union. Wife is the flower of the husband (leaf). He protects her and shelters her, gives her the necessary nutrients to live on and of course produce off springs (even more beautiful plants like the ones that they belong to).
