Re: People with fake names..

Desis are horrendous at spelling their name correctly. Let's take for example Faisal, as it is being discussed in this thread. If one was to replicate the Urdu pronounciation, it should be spelt as Fasel. If we spell it as Fai-sal, then the correct English pronounciation for such order of letters is Faa-aye-zel.

So, I think we are to blame a little for the confusion too.

Re: People with fake names..

There's nothing more dififcult than pronouncing Tamil names. Both the first and last names are 10-15 letters long. You just don't know how to pronounce it. It takes you forever to learn to pronounce it.

Actually typing up/writing Tamil names is far more difficult than pronouncing.

Re: People with fake names..

Thanks  Now I know correct pronounciation…

Problem is..when seeing Faisal …

A long time been thinking Fay-zell …

Have to make effort to remind myself that correct pronounciation is Fessel.

If I were personally introduced would easily remember.

When not familiar with foreign languages…Sometimes hard to remember that the written characters are sometimes similar-looking to ones own..but the pronounciation is different…

Example would be the umalauts and essets in the German language.

Take written Polish..compared with written english a cursive-looking L is usually actually an S…
