Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
What I fail to understand is how come these moronic players can even raise their head after such a diabolical exit from the Worldcup. Besharam, baghairat, dheet log. Had I been in the selection committee I wud have made all these dumbos go and play for club level cricket in Pakistan and give new players the chance to represent Pakistan.
What I fail to understand when are we gonna call them beghairat, besharam and what not after we lose! Too bad that as a nation we never support our team, we support results only.

As they say back home, abhee tho Worlcup ke Kabr thandee bhee naheen huwee....Pakistani Worldcup grave is still warm and these players are once again back to their antics, now if this is not baghairthee then what else?
And u r wrong, we like anyother nation support our team, but also like to see them play like a professional team. No one expects their team to win all the time, but to lose against teams like IRELAND!!!!

Your first sentence is probably missing a negative.
Anyway, I think there is a fine line. In sports you win some and you lose some. Supporting your team does not mean you embrace them even when they perform like crap. Which is precisely what Pak team did in this WC. We support our team when they play and perform to the best of their ability. Everyone can see that Pak did not perform to their ability. The same people who'd have carried the team on their shoulders after a good performance (not necessarily winning performance) are not robots that they'd not express themselves in defeat. People invest emotionally in the game and losing in such abject and pathetic manner is bound to get fans riled up. To whine about negative reception is extremely amateurish on the part of Younis and others. I don't see them complaining when people rush forward to shake their hands and get their autographs. Dude, its all part of the same package. Good comes with the bad. Get used to it! If its too hot to handle, disappear from the scene. Its not for you, then. :)

Only Woolmer had some integrity......
England lost against South Africa horribly and unprofessionally and they were boo-ed but rest assured they will be spared of THAT kind of treatment. Not that because british media doesnt over-hype them but because majority of public is tolerant of defeat. Do you honestly think our nation's behavior would have changed even a tiny bit had our team lost to SA in first round and bowed out? Its one thing to boo the players and etc but it is NOT okay to curse them with maa-bahen gaaliyaan, burn effigies and demand a donkey ride for them.

you are right. My sentence was missing a 'not' =)
I completely agree with the statement that people invest emotionally in the game and hence get hurt with such performances. Neither do I approve what Younis did was right. My point is that we cross the lines and over-react in horrible ways and demand such inexplicable things (Match-fixing, donkey rides, effigies etc)
Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
Egjactly.
A bit of booing at the airport would have been fine but pushing and shoving him in a disgraceful manner (and that too after someone is understandably tired after a long flight + mentally stressed due to what had happened post WC) was over-stepping the line and showing extreme jihaalat. It was totally unwarranted and uncalled for. To his immense credit (I am repeating here) Younis kept his emotions under check and did not slap or kick anyone :k: which is what (forget Inzi and Afridi) even Imran Khan would have done.
Imran once slapped a press reporter in the early 90s after he insulted him in front of everyone (can’t remember the exact details) by asking him something about his personal life at a press conference

I agree with what you are saying but there is no need for Younis to make such a drama out of it. Get on with it, in public life you take the good with the bad. No place for cry babies.
Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
Haven't we heard this before, this warning means nothing for the "senior" players, in the past players have outsed the coach and vice versa. instead of releasing (if true) such a statement, they should work and discuss with the team and try to window down this "senior" player tantrum for good.

Yaar bhai meray,
where are the maa-bhen ke gaalin on this forum? Nor is anyone supporting burning of effigies or demanding donkey rides (not a bad idea).
Issue here is senior players playing the power game and that too after such a dispicable performance, that is sad, pathetic and warrants some real harsh treatment cause it means these guys have no regrets nor do they show any signs of making meaningful efforts to mend their ways.
Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
ONLY if Pakistani players take half the pride in playing for their country as Australians do, there would not be even a hint of such lack of support. These morons play for their egos. I don't know how you guys support and follow them? Go Sri Lanka! Go Aussie!

Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
Why did PCB felt the need announce this to the world ? Just have a private word with the seniors, dont insult or threaten them in public. Those seniors have given a lot to Pakistan cricket and shouldnt be insulted this way in public. It's like scolding a little child. Ok I am appointing Shoaib as the big bro, now you all play nice and listen to him or mommy will take away all the toys. Just let the seniors know in private that Shoaib is the captain and the board expects everyone else to follow his instructions and respect him in his new role.
Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
^ There has been no statement or word on it from the PCB and try as hard as they might, such news cannot be hidden from the hawkish eyes of the pressmen who always seem to know someone (doorman, someone in the board, gardener, receptionist, driver etc.) closely linked to the board etc. (yeh sub under kee baatein hoti hein). I am sure the PCB just had a private conversation with everyone but there's little they could do about the news leaking.
Re: PCB tells seniors in Pak cricket team to support Malik or face the axe
I doubt its a doorman. Almost all such news are leaked for a purpose. PCB wants to come across as tough and no better way to appear tough than to whip senior players every now and then. Indian board did the same by issuing notices to Tendu and Yuvraj. Its all part of the game. Of course, it didn't help the cause of these senior players that they have so recently let the team and the nation down so badly. So in the nation's eye, its perfectly fine to whip them a li'l bit.

These senior players have been handsomely rewarded for services rendered. When Moyo broke Viv Richard's record, he was showered with praise and huge amounts of money both by state and private sector. I dont remember anyone complaining then about the adulations nor did the player concerned show any reservations. Now that they have failed to deliver, they deserve every bit of criticism and more so when they start playing their dirty games.
These players are paid profssionals, they are all signatories to disciplinary contracts and are supposed to behave like professionals. Being a professional means complete understanding and committment to the team, captain and Pcb rules and regulations. If these guys still want a private talk after losing to Ireland then more than a talk they need a big boot up their backside.
