Ok, here are my views on this (and related) topic:
I think its perfectly fine for our national cricketers to
- Have beards.
- Pray salah ba jamaat.
- Preach about Islam to others (da'wah).
- Say Bismillah and Alhamdollilah before their interviews.
Have limited fluency in foreign languages (incl English). If they have fluency, well and good.
I think its completely unacceptable for our players toMake selection decisions in the team based on another player's perceived taqwa level
Give up necessary cricket practice to do other extra-curricular activities
Not keep themselves fit.
Instead of performing to their best abilities, hoping that prayers alone will get them through.
]Create an atmosphere to pressurize and discriminate other players to fit a certain mold of *musalmanliness.
