Patience is a virtue because it is not an easy quality. Patience requires sooooooooooooooooooooo much inner strength, inner will power to keep from loosing your cool and unleashing your wrath upon the other person. Whether it's the kind of patience you show in dealing with others......or patience with hardships and fulfillment of duas...........being patient is challenging and sometimes even painful......that's why Allah attaches so much value to it.
It's even tougher when you're dealing with someone who has an ego with a size and depth bigger than the Pacific Ocean......the kind of person who is not open to seeing another angle.....the kind of person who cannot even consider the possibility that he/she might be wrong.........the kind of person who deep down **KNOWS **that he/she is wrong.......but is too proud to apologize and compromise, let alone **LISTEN **to what you have to say.
And the best thing to do when dealing with such blockheads is to avoid them or maintain a distance.....and pick and choose your battles. I do however believe that if you've dealt with the offender patiently a few times.....and if they continue crossing the line.......**then it's good to put them in their place sometimes!
**Because putting them in their place and giving them a taste of their own bitter medicine might even encourage them to reflect over their behavior and think twice before treating another person unjustly in the future.
There has to be a healthy balance. Sometimes patience is best....other times you have to take charge.
