Re: Pasha Refused to meet US officials

I am reproducing here my post dated Oct 3, 2008.
Here you shall find an artical published world over.I want to say some thing before that,There are many rumers but there is nothing true. There is no difference looking anywhe between presedent Zardari and Pakistan army. The people who do not know genral Kiani and Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha those can say this. The both genrals are totally professional and there is no record of there political involment any time in their lives. The both are serious type personalities and famous for their tight lips. Now the command of Pakistan army is in the best hands after decades. The both genrals have best records and known for their gentle behaviour and good diciplene,Now it is the best time for the politicians to do something for the nation. The colation in the centre and the provinces are the real represntatives of the public.Pakistan Peoples Party,PML(N) ANP MQM and allies are there, who one else is there to claim the public representation. It is the high time to get results but they will have to go to public and not to play in hands of Beorocracy.

Islamabad, Sept. 30: The chief of the Pakistani army, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, today appointed a new head of the nation’s premier spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The appointment consolidates Kayani’s control over an agency that the US contends has been helping the Taliban mount operations against American forces in Afghanistan.
An army statement today said that Lt Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha was appointed as the director general of the ISI. Pasha, who is considered to be close to Kayani, replaces Lt Gen Nadeem Taj who was hand-picked by former President Pervez Musharraf.
Pasha’s appointment was approved by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
Pasha has been overseeing Pakistani military operations against Taliban and al Qaida militants in the country’s northwest. He had also commanded troops for the UN mission to Sierra Leone in 2001-2002 and was appointed as an adviser on peacekeeping operations by the world body last year.
Taj, a distant relative of Musharraf, has been transferred to head the Gujranwala-based 30 Corps. He was appointed as ISI chief in September last year.
Kayani led the spy agency before he became army chief last November. That was when Pervez Musharraf relinquished the role, nine months before resigning as President.
Under Pakistan’s new civilian government, Kayani has been deliberately making his mark on the army.
Today’s announcement of the new spy chief, along with a roster of appointments of new senior generals, put his personal stamp on the top echelon of the military.
As head of the intelligence agency, Pasha will be dealing directly with the CIA and face Washington’s determination to stop attacks by Taliban and al Qaida forces in Afghanistan. Pasha assumes the role at a time of mounting tension between the US and Pakistan.
American Special Forces crossed earlier this month from Afghanistan into Waziristan in Pakistan’s tribal area on a raid against al Qaida operatives who provide much of the technical and strategic back up for the Taliban fighters. The American raid sparked a tough public repudiation of Washington from Kayani.
He said Pakistan would defend its borders at “all costs”, an extraordinary statement from one ally to another.
In August, Pasha accompanied Kayani to a secret, highly unusual meeting between top Pakistani military leaders and American commanders, including the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, Admiral Mike Mullen, on the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier.
Pakistani officials said the appointments were part of a regularly scheduled reshuffle, and had little to do with the new civilian government. They said the choices were entirely those of Kayani.

Re: Pasha Refused to meet US officials

Here is some record of this smart and from his student life well dressed general.United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had appointed Lieutenant General Ahmad Shuja Pasha of Pakistan as the new Military Adviser, Department of Peacekeeping Operations. General Pasha could succeeds acting Military Adviser General Per Arne Five of Norway. But government of Pakistan has refused this offer and decieded to appoint him ISI chief. He has a very professional carrier and one who can be trusted by his nation. He was never involved in politics any time in his life,He like General Kiani is famous for his tight lips and good behaviour,The both generals are known for their dicipline. For the last two years, General Pasha has served as the Director-General of Military Operations at the Central Headquarters of the Pakistani Army. In this position he has been in overall command of all Army operations inside Pakistan’s borders, as well as all peacekeeping deployments. Prior to this posting, General Pasha has had a distinguished 30-plus year career in the Pakistani Army. He has commanded an infantry division, a mechanized infantry brigade, an infantry battalion and has served as the Chief Instructor of the Command and Staff College of the Pakistani Army. From 2001-2002, General Pasha also served as a Contingent and Sector Commander with UNAMSIL, the United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone. In this position, he was responsible for the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of former rebel groups. General Pasha, born in 1952, is married and has three children

because we blindly follow our illiterate leaders.

How exactly will USA collapse?

Did USA collapse when they had their civil war in 1860's?

Did USA collapse when they had the great depression in the 1930's when 20% of all Americans were unemployed?

Did USA collapse in the 1960's when race riots tore american cities, US forces were bogged down in Vietnam and political scandals and anti-war protests were rocking the country?

Man a1kashur, I thought you posted some intelligent posts, but what kind of a retarded argument was that?

I don't know what are you smoking these days!!!

But the same US forces who are facing humiliation from Taliban of Afghanistan on daily basis, the Taliban who have no WMDs, and they are giving real tough time to US troops heavily equipped backed by the Satellites and Air-Power...

These US Power can fight and capture Pakistan or in other wordsm they gonna open another front when they are being defeated in Iraq and Afghanistan... u gotta give up the company of Tube guys or u need to post these in Jokes Sections..

Russians are saying that now, as ur history is very weak so, let me remind you it is the same Russia, which used to called USSR and was a super power, they disintegrated...

So now same Russians were very happy when Americans entered in Afghanistan back in 2001, and now they are saying that America may disintegrate in coming years... for ref... do some goggling...

Keep believing that if USA is having a tough time in Afghanistan they do not have the capability to use their special forces to take over Pakistan's Nuclear Arsenal

Your arguments are very childish...

USA is fighting an asymmetric warfare in Afghanistan.....capturing a static target is completely different

leave this discussion to people who know what they are talking about

before, wishing for disintegration of US, people must look at their own backyard and try to improve situation in their own locality in whichever little way they can.

Jingoistic people from Subcontinent fail to understand that it will take another 40-50 years for South Asia to even think about matching US in terms of economy and infrastructure.

US has a very good overall system and governance in place. Their all institutions are functional.

It's pity that for the sake of boasting and false pride generated by religious/national superiority complex, people forget that their own country is in deep $hit while wishing fall of a highly developed and mature country like US.

The Only thing people of Sub-Continent lacks is the leadership, nothing else.... and i guess you have missed the whole point... if USSR can collapse as house of cards.. then yes America can meet the same fate.. do you think.. Russia is just sitting back and watching... but again.. because US-Media has not said it, it can't be reality.. that's another drawback South-Asians mentality have...

USSR disintegrated because Russia forcefully created a union of neighboring countries in 1920 after the end of the Russian Civil War calling it the USSR

Each of those countries wanted independence after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Is there such a thing in USA?

Are there any serious independent movements in USA?

USA had plenty of times to break apart but it didn't as the examples I have cited above

Canada has a better chance of breaking apart with Quebec and Western Canada movements to separate than USA

As for Afghanistan causing the USSR to fall apart. That is another myth conjured up jihadists. The USSR Economy, coupled with their massive defensive expenditures, coupled with their bad harvests, caused a shortage of goods in stores in USSR.

USSR had 2 Armies in Afghanistan, in total 80,000 men of those 16,000 were killed. USSR's Military Man Power was over 6 Million.

So Afghanistan did not cause USSR to fall apart. Their internal policies and economic and defense expenditures did.

Obviously you have been brainwashed since childhood into believing this nonsense.

Talking to you is like trying to convince a person from the 10th century that the World is Round.

Same internal policies Americans have now a days.. they have one of the biggest ever economic downturn... and expenses on war is rising by every passing day... so u urself said the thing...

I sometime feel that iam talking to a guy u thinks he knows every thing and his source of info is some pals in the tube-station.. as i told you.. u can post you theories in joke section as this section is for some serious discussions

That is a very very simplistic understanding my friend. You should look further deep than just brushing aside all the horde of problems with often boasted arguement that ohhh all we need a Khalifa, a Mahdi to uplift.

Leadership can succeed when you have all institutions and system, society as functional. It starts right from the basic living and education.

and i guess you have missed the whole point... if USSR can collapse as house

[/quote]

Another gross generalization BS, that is like saying if my dog bites my a$$ then surely your dog will also bite your a$$.

Wrong!

The Global Economy is starting to recover and most analysts predict it will be back up by 2010

When the USSR economy tanked, it took down the Eastern European and Cuban Economy with it. Because Cuba supplied most of the Sugar to USSR.

It was a contained phenomenon and not a global phenomenon.

As for expenses for the War. The Iraq War is winding down and thus a decrease in expenditures.

I have pretty much destroyed every argument you have posted. Not with rhetorical nonsense, hyperbole, conspiracy theories, conjecture, and wishful thinking but with FACTS!

Something which you lack in every single one of your posts.

I challenge you to posts facts next time or dispute the facts that I have posted.

But listen, its ok to admit you don't know anything. I understand Pakistani education is crap and people there since childhood force feed you nonsense. So I can understand why you are so taken aback.
