Re: Party/ dawat Budget?
The party went great, I went a bit over budget but that was because I over ordered the pizza. Cutting each pizza into 16 slices is a great idea. The older kids did not mind and I served ice cream for them too. Everything was a hit esp the chicken pot pie and the baked pasta it was all gone. Even the roasted brie was gone. I ended up doing crackers with hummus and those were pretty popular too. I did not have time to make the shrimp tarts but I did make masoor dal as one friend is vegetarian. There were a lot of people, about 30 ladies and 45 kids. We don’t have a big home, but I made the younger girls go into my daughter’s room, older girls into a guest room, older boys in the basement with a movie and younger boys in my son’s room so we all fit, except there was a mountain of shoes at the door, lol
All in all I ended up spending around $400 (Little Ceaser’s pizza tyhe cheap one wasn’t open so i had to go with Domino’s) and also ordered 10 pizzas while 7 would have been enough. I also got ice cream for the kids ( $5 for a giant tub at Aldi’s and we have left overs) instead of cake. A guest brought cake too as a house warming gift and we served some of that to the kids too along with the regular food. Also the head count got higher too close to the date, really I guess the budget was still not that bad counting the number of people.
