its not just the ground zero mosque, thats just the latest arrival and the one most convenient for national coverage.

Looking at how Ground-Zero is new nerve point for Americans, Muslims should not insist or get into ugly debate. If most of the locals are against it, they (Muslims) should move mosque site. Remember even in Islam, you cant construct mosque on disputed land.
I see it just like nerve points of Muslims such as someone drawing cartoon or Muhammad etc. Just like we expect them not to touch our nerve point, we should take this as a special case and should not get into ugly dispute.
btw, prayer at mosque 10 blocks from ground 0 will give you same sawab as prayer at mosque at ground 0. Why fight then? I can understand fight over Qibla-e-Awal (bait-al-maqaddas) but not this.

I fully support Cordoba Initiative. I am regular contributer. The reason i support this is, because of “Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf”. A secular Imam who is already running mosque few blocks away from Ground Zero from quiet a years now.

I think its all political game , trying to score points . There is a church nearby , none had any objection against that .
they are building this “Cordoba Mosque” two blocks away from Ground Zero. They already acquired the place ( multi million $) - the map is final and submitted to city council for approval.

I agree with your point, as it shouldn't matter where the mosque is built. BUT the mosque is not being built at ground-0 instead a few blocks away. Also, from what I've read if its correct the place has been used for Friday prayer purposes for the last year or so. They just hope to rebuild the place.

^Check the video out in this link…of John Steward mocking Fox News for its paranoia regarding the growing number of mosques being built (not just confined to Ground Zero). It start off kinda slow…but the video’s kinda funny.

A BIG & Huge Mosque/Muslim Cultural center must be made in front of it. So the millions who will visit it also knows about other point of view.
Yes and in 3 years none of that has been completed or achieved. The website is flashy and professional but lacks substance. I will check it out once it actually does something worth while other than create press for itself by causing drama.
