We often hear kids complaining how their parents don't understand them and don't listen to what they (kids) say.
so the question, lets suppose you could SWAP your parents for a month, so would you swap your parents for what reason. :-D
Ya know what? As a a kid and teenager I thought some of my parents' views were unfair. And even know as an adult, I still don't agree with some of their views.
BUT........ALHUMDOLILLAH......as imperfect as they may be, they're the perfect parents for me. My parents are among the BEST BLESSINGS that Allah has given me.
When I see how some kids today are raised, I actually feel grateful that my parents were more tougher on us. And this may sound cocky, but when I see how some people my age behave, even then I'm grateful about the way my parents have manged things.
I've thought about this question before. And I've tried picturing myself as having my cousins' parents as my OWN parents. Or my friends' parents as my OWN parents. And I've ended up realizing that I'd find THEIR parents either too strict, or too laid-back, or too unreasonable for my personality.
It's kind of like the story, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Goldilocks tries one chair and it's too big for her. She tries the next chair and it's too soft for her. The third chair is the right fit. Every family will have ups and downs and conflicts, but in the end I think that my parents are the right fit. I do think that they could have gotten a better daughter than me cuz I can be really stubborn :p
