This must have made you and your family much stronger although its very very difficult. May Allah Swt provide your dad the best place in Jannah.
Children who have lost their fathers early on have no other choice but to be independent as early as possible. I had been helping my dad in his business since the age 17 and continued to work after he passed away. My younger bro was just 17 when we lost our dad and since then he has been working full time along with completing his studies. So we have no other choice but to work and be independent.
