we started it with a small potty chair on which she was able to sit comfortably , we made her sit on it every hour or every two hours and that was it . She started doing her peepee and poo poo in that pot. Though the transition from her own cute little potty chair to the toilet was of a few days but she started telling about peepee or poopoo within 2 days.
I think it’s very important that kid feels comfortable in his/her potty chair or toilet seat otherwise they won’t tell you about it. I can say this with experience as my daughter was not comfortable using her school toilets , reason it did not had her toilet seat. So we removed her toilet seat in home toilet also and trained her to sit on the regular one. But she still prefers her own toilet more than any other and would hold it till she gets back home.
