fashions: Pakistani fashion is more similar to Indian than to Afghani/middle eastern
food: same
language
entertainment
etc

there are too many similarities for me to list but the differences don't make a long list since those are the ones related to religion that's all.

I think we are similar even in terms of religion cuz there are Indian Muslims. Although most are Hindus.

The difference is material stuff like fashion, tv, food, etc.

however, sum things do overlap.

There are differences between indian and pakistanis, but we have more similarities among us then any other country on the planet.

This is because of misconceptions being fed to public by media/politicians due to Kashmir conflict.

Yup, the Kashmir issue as well as this misinformation about each other is causing sooo much hatred from both sides. It can't be just religious differences can it? Because India has muslims too(large chunk of entire population) as well as so many other religions.

I think the way partition was handled is also a really big reason why there was(?) so much hatred. Certain sources make it seem like there was absolutely no leadership to guide the people during such a crazy time. So much blood shed right at that time causing millions of deaths from both sides. Where were the politicians at such a crucial time!?!?

but then again, who cares??? u cant sit infront of ur pc or laptop and judge da world by their race, religion, culture, language etc etc etc....

everyone shud go out more, live with open minds and vast hearts.

people lynching each other is juz cuz lack of tolerance and the absence of respect for one another.
why? people within da same religion/race have lynched each other as well.

completely agree....

besides i never said we dont need open minds and vast hearts.....i agreed before and i will repeat it again, 'we are similar but not same'...

if go on like this india has more similarities with countries like nepal and srilanka. even more than pakistan according to me. why talk of similarities only between pakistan and india?.....doesn't make much sense. we are only talking about india and pakistan here, because we just hate each other.

I dont know what the problem is between india and pakistan. we are practically the same people just different countries otherwise same culture, langauage etc. I personally find indians to be more loyal, humble and hardworking compared to pakis no offense

Mr singha nobody said they're the same, just similar, the same way Spain and Portugal are similar or Canada and USA are similar or the Dominicon-Republic and Puerto-Rico are similar or Yemen and Oman are similar or Tajikistan and Iran are similar, same way the South Asian Subcontinent is all culturally and to some extent racially related (that's the way everyone sees it whether haldi smeared Hindu fundos from your side or Arab wannabes from our side like it or not).

All of the Southasian Subcontinent shares the same history (Gandhara, Indus Valley) and the people are racially an amalagam of the same peoples (original aborigine, dravidian, aryan and others).

Succint and to the point. Faruk bhai, nothing more needs to be said on this subject.

Every human is unique (as for as consciousness/level of self-consciousness and even physical attributes are concerned...). So never can two human beings be the same.

Human being can only be similar to each other. Degree of similarity groups human beings together or sets them apart...Pakistanis and Indians are in the same group because they are more similar than different...

Religion is only a very limited aspect of overall human existence...Practical life is defined by a lot of other things/factors e.g. what you wear, which language do you use to communicate with fellow-beings, what social protocols do you apply, what do you value, etc.

Religion exists but at the conscious level only and so can be subjected to rational adjustment...

Cultures in the order of descending importance are:

BIOLOGICAL/INNATE CULTURE (A Hindu man and a Muslim woman mate so have the same biological culture)
PHYSICAL CULTURE
ENVIRONMENTAL CULTURE (dress, food, social organization, etc.)
CULTURE AT THE SUBCONSCIOUS LEVEL (language, social values, etc.)
CULTURE AT THE CONSCIOUS LEVEL (religion, political ideas, all that we acquire consciously and formally...)

Culture at the conscious level (religion, political ideas, etc.) is the least important because it can be subject to rational interpretation and changes... so difference of religion between Pakistanis and Indians is the least important as for as "practically living together"...
